quadomatic
I just finished installing snow, installing the combo update to 10.6.8 and installing nawcom's latest legacy kernel and an IOUSBFamily and IOUSBMassStorageClass rollback. Everything appears to be working, except I can't mount .dmg images. I noticed on boot, my system says "can't load com.apple.driver.DiskImages - link failed". Does anybody have any idea what I should do? I found old posts about problems like this, saying to do kextload and kextunload, but there doesn't appear to be a kext for this anymore (these posts went as far back as Tiger I think). saivert
I'm having this issue as well. I installed using ##### OS X 10.6.3, then updated to 10.6.8 using Software Update. This caused USB to stop working so I found a .pkg that installed older versions of IOUSBFamily.kext which brought USB back. After this I can't mount .dmg files. Console says: 7/9/11 2:15:38 AM [0x0-0x1a01a].com.apple.DiskImageMounter[223] 2011-07-09 02:15:38.592 diskimages-helper[226:2103] ERROR: unable to load disk image driver - 0xE00002C0/-536870208 - Device not configured. But then I lost sound so I guess I have to install the sound drivers as well.
teufel2k
Exactly the same problem here, but no fix with running ##### (3.7.2, 3.7.3 or 3.8.0)! Could someone help here, I would try Lion to fix this, but without dmg mount I cannot install Lion Getting that error on boot: kxld[com.apple.driver.DiskImages]: The super class vtable '__ZTV20IOBlockStorageDevice' for vtable '__ZTV16IOHDIXHDDriveNub' is out of date.
