Hi!

I recently installed ideneb 10.5.8 lite edition on my compaq presario laptop C745ee.

Everything is working except for my wifi. However, i have a serious issue. My laptop keeps shutting down unexpectedly.

Totally unexpectedly. It is not a overheating issue as i even tried using a cooling pad and tried it, it still keeps shutting down.

Pls help me here. I am noob in osx86.

P.S

My specs :

Microprocessor 1.60 GHz Intel Pentium dual core processor T2330

Microprocessor Cache 1 MB Level 2 cache

Memory 2048 MB (2 x 1024 MB)

Memory Max Up to 2 GB DDR2

Video Graphics Intel Graphics Media Accelerator X3100

Video Memory Up to 384 MB

Hard Drive 120 GB (5400 rpm)

Well, it might be your PSU (power supply) failing or sending serges to your components, like shorting stuff out... I have not heard of a patch for a shutdown issue (or the issue itself) so this is my best educated guess... Is the port where the plug... plugs in OK? Is it wobbly? Are there nicks in the cable?

Also, are you sure the CPU isn't overheating? Or the GPU? It's a laptop so theres not much room for heat to dissipate.

Are you absolutely sure you don't have it set to shut down after a while in the System Prefs. or IN YOUR BIOS?

I am pretty sure both my CPU and GPU are not overheating. i used a cooling pad with 2 fans - one for the CPU and one for the GPU.

As for my System Prefs., it seems to be fine i dint set it to shutdown nor sleep. It doesnt trun off in Windows 7 , only in os x, i think something has to be wrong within my osx and not the bios.

The ports and the plug is perfect. not wobbly at all. i am going to check my console log again

Edit: I have checked the logs. it doesnt show anything like that.
