JujoCro
Hello there, I am planning on buying a laptop on which I would like to install OS X. I will most likely (actually, 100% sure) get an Dell N5110 with i5-2410M CPU. I would just like to know if it is compatible with iAtkos S3 v2, and if it is not, is there any other way to install OS X on that laptop. Specs: Intel® Core™ i5-2410M 2.3 / 2.9 Turbo GHz, 3 MB Level 3 Cache 4GB (1x4) 1333MHz Dual Channel DDR3 NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M w/ 1GB High Definition audio Dell Wireless 1702 (802.11b/g/n) That's all I've got at the moment. Also, any tips (like, drivers I should choose etc.) are appreciated. Thanks
wen1
you can try the L502x guide in this forum. Specs appear very similar. You might have to create your own DSDT or ask mald0n for help on DSDT. but the rest should work.
Dr. Hurt
Just got one y-day. Very nice laptop. I haven't tried installing OS X yet, as I'm waiting for lion. According to my research, this laptop should work very well. Intel HD3000 should work with a DSDT edit, Nvidia won't work (maybe in the future). Audio (IDT) should work with modified AppleHDA, but if not, I guess voodoo will do just fine. Wifi (Atheros) should work with some tweaking. This is actually the only Sandy bridge laptop that doesn't use the centrino WiFi (which doesn't work with OS X) Overall, I really think this is one of the best Sandy Bridge laptops for Mac OS X, though I'd advise you to wait till Lion is released to get full Sandy Bridge support with minimal effort. I can't give you anymore info or confirm anything because I haven't tried anything myself yet. I'm really excited though, Lion will be released at about the same time I finish my exams, then the fun begins

Graphics, wifi, audio, power, trackpad (is multitouch working?), DSDT, kexts in Extra, OS Version? Thanks in advance.

Vast majority of sites that I have visited which actually list details on components, typically list Intel Centrino wireless chipset. Need at least 5 notebooks for a school to experiment with linux and osx86, and am interested in the model you have described.
