Lion on a Core Duo

So I managed to get Lion DP1 working well on my Core Duo by copying a working installation of DP1 from a virtual machine onto a hard drive partition, and then deleting the PlatformSupport.plist file. However, no upgrades were available in Software Update so I decided to manually upgrade to DP3 by doing the same process over again. When I try to boot, it just hangs there... so I'm really not sure what the problem is. lipo shows 32 bit support compiled in mach_kernel, and copying over the old kernel from DP1 doesn't help. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Well, it says it loaded the kernel cache, and names the root device UUID, and then just hangs there. Since it's so early on in the boot process, I'm thinking I can probably just keep copying over files from the /System directory on DP1 (CoreServices directory and the CoreServices framework?) until it boots. I'm just wondering if someone knows what the problem might be.
