fajoff Posted June 3, 2011 Share Posted June 3, 2011 I have been using a 1.73GHz Dell 1525 for a few years without any trouble, but I'm stuck on 10.5.4 and all attempts to upgrade have failed. I realize the 1525 is widely recognized in Hackintosh communities to be highly-compatible. What are some highly 10.6.8-compatible models? (Not netbooks!) 3.14r2 Posted June 3, 2011 Share Posted June 3, 2011 MacBook/MacBook Pro are 100% compatible and works OOTB The most important points in compatibility are: chipset CPU GPU Your best bet is to find one with similar above components to any of existing Apple computers. I have a notebook which is 70% identical to MacBook 1,1 (first gen of Intel MacBooks). There are only few minor issues that are no important in everyday use. Shirosaki Posted June 8, 2011 Share Posted June 8, 2011 My Dell Studio 1558 Intel I3 330M, Ati Radeon 4570 seems be fully functional ( Some things like some shortcuts do not work ) everything what needs to works that works. I would rate my notebook if you look at the specs better then Macbook and between the cheaper Macbook pro, I think you can look for notebook which have similar specifications as Macbooks I guess they have biggest change to work fully functional.
