Hello Folks,

what version of mac osx I can Install on my Lenovo IdeaPad Y560

here is the device info from cpuz images attached

I will give you a quick run through how to try to install osx on this laptop

You can get retail Mac OS X 10.6 and update it to 10.6.7 (combo update) later without any problem.

There are few choices for you to get it boots to Mac dvd installation, I tried using NBI_083F.img, it didn't even go to the logo part. So try Iboots + ##### instead, it works on my laptop

iboots does not have usb version, so you have to boot through cd. If you insist using 2 usb alternatives then you have to create bootable usb for ##### usb first.

During partition, make into 2 or 3 partitions, first 1 is for your macOS, second 1 or third 1 is for your clean install backup( to me this is very very very important part, going to save you tons of time later on)

once installed, you should be able to boot to macOS the first time using your ##### cd/usb. If you go to the desktop smoothly without any problem then do the following steps:

 1. Download #####
 2. install ##### with following options: #####, system utilities and Kext Utility (in OSX86 software) . In the Drivers & bootloaders / Kexts & enablers / miscellaneous, choose nullCPUPowermanagement and voodoo PS/2 Controller and/or voodoo PS/2 trackpad
 3. click continue, if it said successfully installed then go ahead and restart
 4. test if you can reach your decktop again or not
 5. if you can then do these:

 • Restart
 • put in your iboots and MAC OS installation dvd, use disk ultity to make a new image of your partition that you installed mac os and save it on the other partition.
 • wait 10-25mins here
 • get back to your mac desktop once it's done. If your network (Ethernet or wireless) is working, download 10.6.7 combo updates and install it but DO NOT RESTART. open ##### again, choosing the same options as before. let it finish and once again, DO NOT RESTART YET.
 • Download IOUSBFamily.kext i attached, this will help you fix the problem with USB ports once the 10.6.7 rolls in. install it using kext utility.
 • once it done then restart, if everything went well, you should reached the desktop without using the #####. Otherwise, roll back to the backup you just created.
 • make another 10.6.7 image back up with the same steps as above for future :)

It's time consuming tasks, I subject you have at least 2 laptops/desktops to work with, 1 for mac install, and 1 to google stuffs and keep youself entertaining lol

Things I didnt cover:

Sound, Wireless, Ethernet, graphic, drive. This things you should try to get the device name, vendor name, device ID and vendor ID in windows first before doing anything above. Sound can work with the universal kext, but hardly for wireless and ethernet. My graphic card got recognized so I didn't have to do anything

NOTE: Just in case, your usb ports not working even with IOUSBFamily.kext or your keyboard not working in any state of the #####. Enable Universal Access and Mouse Keys, so you can still use mouse by keypads numbers and on screen keyboard, then try to install IOUSBFamily.kext again.

my laptop Lenovo Y430 got everything working except wireless due to I didn't know the wireless card name or vendor name.... but I still got a way to get around it by using Android phone as my wireless card using Pdanet, if you using Iphone then I sure there are some similar software for it as well.

Most of the time, you wont be able to recover from a kernel panic, mismatch CPU type, etc.. so you should have the ##### and retail mac os installation dvd ready, in case you are using usb drives then better save them for later on.

dd.exe

MacOSXUpdCombo10.6.7

3rr0rists_10.6.5_v2.dmg (originality of the IOUSBFamily.kext, i tried this but it say the kexts were installed improperly, so i just get the kext file and use Kext utility.)

Good lucks and have fun ^^
