Guest JeremyLeroy96
Today i wanted to boot into my leopard partition. When I got to chameleon I selected it, then the apple went away and the chameleon remained at the top. After many trials, i realized that typing "Wake=No" Would allow me to boot. I found that it was trying to load "sleepimage" which is a 4gb file. Can I just delete it, or at least make it stop booting from it? I don't like having to type "Wake=No"
Gringo Vermelho
Deleting it will not help, it will be recreated. From a terminal prompt, type man pmset, *read* and then do whatever you have to do to disable hibernation, using the pmset command....I think it's sudo pmset hibernatemode=0 but check first to be sure. This (well, the correct command anyway) will disable hibernation and delete the sleepimage. Another way is to simply add wake=0 to your /Extra/com.apple.Boot.plist - but you permanently lose 4 GB hard drive space to the sleepimage file. Guest JeremyLeroy96
Actually, I finally got the courage to delete it. It worked, it no longer hung up at the chameleon. However the problem happens again as expected when my laptop lid is shut. I'll look into disabling it.
