jdwoods
Hi there. Noob here... guess I passed the tests to post. Heres my problem: I have successfully installed and updated OS X to 10.6.7. The system seems to be fine. Ethernet does not seem to work even after installing REALTEK drivers from LNX2MAC. Heres my rig: Gigabyte GA-X58A-UD3R rev 2 Intel i7 960 Gigabyte Batmobile AMD 5770 Kingston Technology Hyper X 8GB 1600MHz DDR3 Seagate Barracuda Green 2TB SATA Corsair Enthusiast Series 650-Watt Antec Three Hundred Gaming Case Black Steel Ethernet seems to be functioning. BIOS reads that there is 100MBs throughput and reads less than 10M cable length. The LEDs on the port indicate that there is a cable connected and that data is passing through. System Profiler states that the realtek kext is the one being used. System Preferences/Network states that the computer is self assigning a 169.xx.x.xx IP address when the ethernet cable is connected. When it is disconnected, it states that the cable is disconnected. Does anybody have any help or input to offer? Thank you.
