Hi all,

I have an iphone 3Gs (Model A1303). I had to restored it to factory default via itunes. Since I get the "No SIM card installed" error, I would like to unlock and jailbreak it. I have tried blackra1n and no success. Also note, I do not have a sim card for the current carrier the iphone is lock to.

I do not know the firmware that is on the iphone nor the ios (but I assume the latest since I just did a restore and upgrade). Any help would be appreciated :-)

Hello iOS the latest firmware to 4.3.3 to jailbreak you have to use PwnageTool or Redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 but you have a Sim to activate iPhone at the end of the procedure.

Had any luck with this? I know once you update the baseband, you might as well hang it up on an untethered break.

Please jailbreak with redsn0w 0.9.6rc16 first then you may upgrade to ipad baseband to unlock it.

The OP doesn't have original sim and no need it either.
redsn0w or pwnagetool will hacktivate it.
