Hi,

I compile all branches: Chimera, Kabyl, blackosx ...

So if its a problem of add new software please advise.

I would like to add my Board:

GIGABYTE NVIDIA GT440 1GB DDR5 HDMI

http://www.gigabyte.com/products/produc ... id=3747#ov

And get full support.

Since Chimera has been updated to version 1.4.1 and support to GT440 is included, Graph. Enable = YES ? or other options?

Thanks in advance

Ruy

Working qe/ci for GT 430 and GT 440 !

This is how U make it works.

1. Download #####

2. Start it, and when u get to Custom Install window, skip everything and select/check only few things:

- Drivers/Bootloaders -> Kexts/Enablers -> Graphics -> (Check) Enablers & (Check) NVIDIA 256xxxxx

- Drivers/Bootloaders -> Bootloaders -> Chameleon 2.0 RC5 - Prerelease

- Customization -> Boot Options -> 64bit Apple Boot Screen (if u have 64bit processor, if u use older type like HP530s with Core2Duo 32bit, then select 32bit Apple Boot Screen)

- Customization -> System Definition -> iMac -> iMac 12,1 (works flawless with core2duo processor, and buggy motherboards like ASUS - DONT CHOOSE Mac PRO cause it hangs cause of AppleMCE and AppleTyMCE Kext, if u choose to use MAC PRO profile, then go in terminal, sudo rm -rf /System/Extension/AppleMCE*, and sudo rm -rf /System/Extension/AppleTyMCE* BEFORE U MAKE RESTART!!!)

- Customization -> Themes -> tonnymacx86 remixed (i preffer)

Click on Continue, enter sudo password, and wait until its finished. After it`s done, open terminal and navigate:

cd /Extra

ls -la

(Find file called com.apple.Boot.plist, and if u have it do next)

sudo vi com.apple.Boot.plist (care it`s case-sensitive - Linux based)

and in editor find string:

<key>Graphics Enabler</key>

<string>No</string>

change No string to Yes, save it and quit VI (command for save and quit is :wq!) If its already Yes, dont touch it, just go for reboot.

NOTICE: Maybe U will get 2-3 panics before it boots for the first time, but it`s ok, sometime it hangs with no reason. When U`re getting desktop, before it loads GUI on boot, move your mouse without clicks (sometimes I dont get anything except background color, but when i move mouse it loads normally).

U will get full resolution support, and acceleration that works perfectly in movies, adobe after, premiere, even in Wine and Cedega ports. I`m playing League of Legends on High Detail in 1680x1050 resolution :o

WARN NOTICE: IF U GET STUCKED AT KERNEL, boot your hackintosh with -x -v string, so u can get again here for more help!

P.S. For editing with VI editor, pls use google if U dont know how to, i really dont have nerds to explain it :(

Cheers

I use Hazard 10.6.7 (upgraded from 10.6.6 through Mac OS X Software Update) with Darwin Kernel :)

Hi, can you kindly share how you go about editing plist to GT 440.....you are my last hope...I have tried every known method, been from here to tonymac's ...but still cannot get QE/CI to work....need to use it for Logic 9 and Final Cut. BTW I am using Gigabyte GV-N440D3-1GI...not too sure if this card is supported.. :D

Appreciated...

MacOSX is FreeBSD and Mach ... a new branch Darwin ... from BSD, not Linux. :D

Use "sudo nano com.apple.Boot.plist"

You can see the commands "CTRL- ..." in the editor and much better than VI.

I use it (vi) for other servers. :angel:

Thank very much for your tutorial Linux.M4st3r ,

Pretty straight-forward tutorial up in dis thread. I'm glad newbies can figure it out!

Don't look at my join date when I say "newbie."

Hi, which tutorial are you referring to. Did it work for you ? What graphic card are you using ? Gigabyte ? Please enlighten. I am desperately in need of help here. Guess I am worst than a newbie....

Hi ,

I manage to install the Asus engt 440 1GB DDR5: http://www.asus.com/Graphics_Cards/NVIDIA_.../ENGT440DI1GD5/ but unfortunately I can not get the image on my two screens. Only the DVI port work. The HDMI port gives me no picture. I have also no sound through HDMI. I use the driver vodoo HDA 2.5.

Little help greatly apreciate.

Sorry for my English

Hey Auran,

I found a way to enable 512 vram of the Asus Nvidia 440 GT. Thanks to your research I was able to get some QE/CI out of it. Then I took it some steps further and found that when you install easy beast (from #####) and when you have your graphics enabler on, you will get all aspects recognized from the card in Snow leopard. One restriction though: only 512 Gb of vram. I had no success at all in Lion, none at all. And you?

Does anyone have the version of ##### used here? The new version does not contain the nvidia driver.

Thanks in advance

Go to download driver to nvidia web site: http://www.nvidia.fr/object/quadro-macosx-...-driver-fr.html

Don't forget to download cuda driver too.
