I suggest you look at this guide. It'll help you installing OS X on your PC. I'm currently running retail 10.6.7 on my nForce 630i, but it sure was a tricky one! So, borrow or get a IDE DVDRW to do the installation and connect it as Master (see post #1).........or try installing OS X to an external USB HDD and then cloning that volume onto your SATA HDD......and use AppleNForceATA_TEST.kext in /S/L/E with your SATA DVDROM.......I assume you have set up your BIOS correctly according to my BIOS template for 650i in post #1....? You can use whichever Chameleon works best for your setup to make your USB flash drive and target OS X volume bootable........suggest you first try RC4 using Dr Hurt's RC4 installer......the guide may appear complicated only because it offers you choices of which Chameleon based bootloader version to use..... Msaleh
at the end i got my bootable USB flash drive i used for this dj nitehawk's Pre-Install Automator v1.1 to install Chameleon 2.0 RC3 completely so i remove SATA DVD and only connect SATA HDD and boot with usb flash drive and it's working fine but again i can't see my HDD in disk utility step i think the problem not in SATA DVD i'm new user i don't know how this work but after i read many guides i think problem about nForce MOBO bios configuration , the Mac OS X retail image , bootloader so the question here ... is this possible to install retail Mac OS X on nForce mobo (650i Ultra) with SATA HDD ? or i need patched release like iATKOS S3 V2 to get this work ? is there bootloader like Chameleon for nForce mobo (650i Ultra) ? help
iLeopod
Do you have AppleNForceATA.kext in the extra folder of your usb drive? I installed my system also with USB you don't need distros.
mulcyber
Do you have AppleNForceATA.kext in the extra folder of your usb drive? I installed my system also with USB you don't need distros. @ iLeopod I'm not an nForce owner, I read this in a guide, because I wondered about what Bios settings needed to be changed. Nearly all guides for all Hacks say to change to AHCI mode. How about in this 650i case? 4.2 – Next, configure SATA to run in AHCI mode in the Integrated Peripherals menu. You’ll need to set both PCH SATA Control Mode and Onboard SATA/IDE Ctrl Mode to AHCI. http://www.hackint0sh.org/f181/55136.htm An older distro guide. " 5. Go into BIOS and set these options: * HPET: Enabled * Jmicron SATA Controller: Disable * Onboard IEEE1394: Disable [you can enable it after the installation] .... Download the NForceATA Driver to your desktop [Thanks to medevil] Open terminal and type the following: sudo -s cp -R ~/desktop/AppleNForceATA.kext /system/library/extensions/ chmod -R 755 /system/library/extensions/AppleNForceATA.kext chown -R root:wheel /system/library/extensions/AppleNForceATA.kext rm -f /system/library/extensions.* diskutil repairpermissions / (might take a while, be patient) exit"
iLeopod
Im assuming when he's able to boot he has the right bios setting. I had a look at the utility he used to installed chameleon. There is fakesmc and openhaltrestart and ps2 kext but no chipset driver. So just adding ApplNForceAta.kext to extra on USB drive and maybe recreating Extensions.mkext if available is enought. verdant
@ Msaleh As for your kernel panic: The system panics with the following message type in the kernel panic log: panic(cpu X caller 0xXXXXXXXX): getPhysicalSegment() out of 32b range 0xXXXXXXXX, len 0xXXXX, class IOGeneralMemoryDescriptor....... because I believe that getPhysicalSegment returns a 32 bit address but because the physical memory address cannot fit in 32 bits a panic occurs.....which invariably happens when more than 3GB of RAM is installed on the MOBO..... Have you installed slashack's AppleNForceATA v0.1 kext yet?......if not, then you should do so because it supports 64bit memory addressing....... Even with slashack's AppleNForceATA v0.1 kext installed, which should enable use of your 4GB RAM without any problems for 99% of the time (BUT will not allow the use of your SATA DVDRW), there still seem to be some apps that cause memory addressing kernel panics either during installation or during large data file transfers e.g. video/audio files...... If you temporarily boot manually with -v cpus=1 maxmem=2048 when installing the app, or for doing large data file transfers e.g. video/audio files......and then afterwards, you reboot as normal.......everything is generally OK again, including making full use of all CPU cores by running applications now using the transferred data...... It is not as bad as you think.....data transfers do not need all 4 cores running at 100%, since it is the MCP that is controlling the data transfer rate from USB/Firewire/eSATA/SATA/IDE to SATA/IDE and vice versa.... With MeDevil's AppleNForceATA_TEST kext and maxmem=3072 in com.apple.Boot.plist curing the SAM Multimedia: READ or WRITE failed that the kext is engineered to, you will be able to read from DVDs but may well not be able to write to DVDs using the SATA DVDRW..... As for your BIOS: NVIDIA GPU Ex [Disabled] RAID Enable [Enabled]

If you are happy with a cut-down distro SL install, then follow http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php...p;showentry=816, otherwise if you want a full Retail SL install then follow the guide in post #1 of this thread as outlined below: For convenience, you would need access to OS X Leopard on an Intel Mac to: 1. Generate a RTC patched DSDT.aml file for SL [Part B] 2. Produce a USB flash drive installer employing an image file of your Retail Mac OS X Snow Leopard Install DVD [Part C] 3. Use Disk Utility to get the UUID for your target SL OS X volume 4. Establish OS X target HDD ownership 5. Run EFIStudio or OSx86Tools to generate the graphics string for your graphics card 6. Install Chameleon 2.0 RC3 (or RC4 or RC5) onto your target SL OS X volume and in the process generate a /Extra directory..... Then Read PART C if you want to produce a USB flash drive installer employing an image file of your Retail Mac OS X Snow Leopard Install DVD...... and then Read PART D if you want to install from a USB flash drive to a GPT HDD volume..... OR Read PART E if you want to install from a USB flash drive to a MBR HDD volume..... BUT Read PART F if you want to install from a Retail Snow Leopard Mac OS X Install DVD disc to a GPT HDD volume using my nForceSLBoot132DVD...... verdant
ok ... now i try to get my DSDT.aml for my MOBO but it tells me that For this you need Leopard running on the PC onto which you plan to install Snow Leopard..... how ... i think that what i trying to make for 7 days ago that install Mac OS X Snow leopard i found utility called ACPI Patcher i can run it from windows is this will gets me the right DSDT.aml Help You can try using koalala's DSDT patcher in Windows or use fassl's DSDT Patcher in OS X......... or extract the dsdt.dsl file when running Windows (using DSDTSE for XP) and then extract the dsdt.dsl file when running OS X (using DSDTSE for OS X)......because Leopard is helpful when installing SL, I would recommend installing Leopard on a small volume...... I would set up 2 OS X volumes (first as Main and 2nd as Backup.....so that you always have a working OS X system to fix the other....) of equal size, of say at least 40GB.....it all depends on how much space you wish to use for OS X and whether or not you set up a separate Archive volume for all your documents, music and video files etc. If Windows and OS X are on separate HDDs, then install Chameleon on each OS X volume and EasyBCD on the Windows volume......this way you can boot into OS X when booting Windows HDD and boot into Windows when booting OS X HDD......then: 1. Use a Leopard OS X Install DVD distro (see my blog for Leopard install guides) to set up the two OS X volumes and install Leopard onto the 2nd OS X volume....... 2. Assuming you can boot into a working Leopard system on the PC you want to install Snow Leopard onto and once SL is working 100% on the 1st OS X volume, you can then clone it onto the 2nd OS X volume overwriting the Leopard system........I use Carbon Copy Cloner for cloning......and install Chameleon again on the 2nd OS X volume...... verdant
@Msaleh If Windows and OS X on same HDD, use EasyBCD 2.02 as your bootloader in Windows to boot OS X too If Windows and OS X on separate HDDs, install Chameleon bootloader on OS X HDD and EasyBCD 2.02 on Windows HDD

Video: From my nForce SL Retail Install GUIDE The 3 easiest methods for getting an nVidia graphics card working in Snow Leopard are as follows (easiest first). 1. Chameleon 2.0 GraphicsEnabler option via com.apple.Boot.plist: <key>GraphicsEnabler</key> <string>Yes</string> 2. Hexadecimal graphics string option via com.apple.Boot.plist: <key>device-properties</key> <string>"for example, 6c0200000100000001000000600200000d00000002010c.." </string> where the graphics string is generated by EFIStudio v1.1 or OSx86Tools..... 3. NVEnabler injector kext, Injector kext, which enables TV-OUT and injects 2nd display operation very well...... The NVEnabler.kext (32bit/64bit) is not just another injector kext because it does on-the-fly ROM patching to give a more stable output configuration.......but you still need to insert your graphics card(s) Device ID into the Info.plist files of the NVDAResman.kext and the NVDANV40hal.kext or NVDANV50hal.kext (to see which of these kexts you need to modify to suit your graphics card(s), look at the list of Snow Leopard supported nVidia cards in post 1.......the older NVDANV30Hal, NVDANV20Hal and NVDANV10Hal kexts are not present in Snow Leopard.....). Important: The methods above are mutually exclusive......use only one at a time. Undo any changes you make before you try something different. If you still have video resolution switching problems, then try connecting your display cable connector to the other port on your video card.....
