So I have something of an odd issue, that I'm sure is Kext-related - I just don't know what to look for:

Core i7-950, ATI Radeon 5850, Asus P6X58D-E, 10.6.7.

Tried with both ATI drivers from:

http://www.tonymacx86.com/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=15798 (notshy)

and

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=255976 (LinearBurn)

I have Chimera 1.3 (760)...

This is perfectly repeatable:

Safe mode, "-v -f -x": on boot I am at 1280x800, can change resolution to 2560x1600 (my Dell's native resolution).

I reboot, "-v GraphicsEnabler=No" and it starts up, 2560x1600, no problem.

I reboot again, and never get to a desktop - when it goes to the login screen, my monitor just switches off (but I can see from the disk activity light, continues booting, is pingable).

This happens whether I use "-v", or "-v GraphicsEnabler=No".

Reboot, "-v -f -x" and I can do it again.

"-v" or "-v GraphicsEnabler=Yes" after a "-v -f -x" has the same result (monitor sleeping).

I presume that it's an extension, but not sure why it would work once after a safe mode, cache rebuild, and not after that.

Any help appreciated!
