has 1 vga, 1 dvi, 1 hdmi ports

(also has additional hdmi audio; 0be3)

 

I have tried both on Hazard 10.6.6i and Iatkos s3 v2, --> same results!

First I have upgraded OSX to 10.6.7...

and kernel to 10.7.0 (I have amd phenom 940 cpu); legacy_kernel-10.6.0.pkg

(How to do; search it via google or forums here...)

 

and then upgraded vga drivers ---> tonymacx86 NVIDIA Update.mpkg

or maybe u can use; Retail_256.01.00f03v7.dmg

so as a result; do not use any injectors, ge, etc...

delete all, nvenabler.kext, natit.kext, nvinjector.kext, nvdarvin, aty_init, etc... in S/L/E or /Extra...

 

Now check 3 kexts; Geforce.kext, NVDAResman.kext, and NVDANV50Hal.kext; their version should

be such as; NVDANV50Hal 1.3.4.0 (256.01.00f03)

now edit the NVDANV50Hal.kext, add device info;

Now install cuda driver 4.0.x from nvidia.com,

 

Last thing; this card is new and boot loaders have no idea;

So, compile chimera from http://forge.voodooprojects.org/p/chameleo...ranches/Chimera

from terminal; svn co -r HEAD http://forge.voodooprojects.org/svn/chameleon

Mine is Chimera 1.3.0 r780

as I have compiled;

 

1-Suppose that your installation is on /dev/disk0s2

 

- Install boot0 to the MBR:

sudo fdisk -f boot0 -u -y /dev/rdisk0

My boot0; boot0.zip DANGER, be sure what you doing here!

U may skip this stage as any OS will boot ...

 

2-

- Install boot1h to the partition's bootsector:

sudo dd if=boot1h of=/dev/rdisk0s2

U should write this to the active partition bootsector...

My boot1h; boot1h.zip

 

3-

- Install boot to the partition's root directory:

sudo cp boot /

This is a must and this file knows your 8400gs 1gb.

My boot file; boot.zip

 

U may have themes in Extra folder like Chameleon.

 

My lspci and plists; lspci.txt.zip, com.apple.Boot.plist.zip, smbios.plist.zip

 

Now,

if u boot and

in boot.plist,

There will not be resolution and QE

but, in "about this mac", more info, graphics ; your vga card will be recognized full by name and ram,

additional pci card will be (that is hdmi audio) there, too

 

But if u do GE=No, you ll now have full resolution and QE,

this time your vga card name will become unknown; that s the only negative part of it

and your pci card info (hdmi audio) will be lost...

Add NVEnabler64.kext to Extra/Extensions, NVEnabler64.kext.zip

repair permissions with kext utility,

boot options; -v arch=i386 cpus=1 busratio=?

If u boot with blue screen, wait a little and reset/restart for 2. or 3. times...

 

I ve tried crt mon. on vga port, dvi port gives a total black screen, didnt try hdmi as i have no cable for now.
