SmallOffice463
My graphics card died after 3.5 years of faithful service. ASUS EN7600GS SILENT/HTD/256M GeForce 7600GS 256MB Unfortunately an exact replacement was not available, so I picked up this one: ASUS EN8400GS SILENT/DI/512MD2(LP) GeForce 8400 GS 512MB When I tried to boot the machine, I got a kernel panic. The wiki mentions that folks have been able to get this card working with NVinstaller V.41 so I obtained both v.41 and v.52 and unzipped them. I have no idea what to do next. Please help. I put this system together 3.5 years ago and have not needed to do any serious maintenance since. It has been a long time since I tinkered with it. It was created using Kalyway 10.5.1 on a Badaxe2 with the included NVInject 0.1.5 with no OS updates. It is backed up using Time Machine. I looked around the forum, but so much of the discussion on this system is dated (dead links). In addition, it is not clear if the discussions on newer systems is relevant. Please help. Thanks. Crawley
install Chameleon, remove any of the enablers and use GraphicsEnabler=Yes at boot (put it in your com.apple.boot.plist for permanent effect).
