Hello.

I come to you again with another DSDT ;)

First i will describe the hardware:

Terminator T3 P5G965 Bios rev 0903.

Intel Core2Duo E6300 1.86Ghz (should be fine any other Core2 processor too)

Ati Radeon HD5450

2Gb Ram

Sata HDD

Pata DVDRW

Now the capabilities after patching DSDT:

Vanilla Speedstep, Pstates + Cstates enabled.

CPU Temp around 38-40 degree celsius with 21 ambient.

Sleep and Wakeup fully working, even with pendrives inserted. No errors on wake about bad ejected pendrives.

Shutdown and Reboot fully working.

Wake from (USB driven) Keyboard, Mouse or from the PowerButton.(USB Power jumpers in mother board must be set to +5Vsb for this, and also fix bad ejected pendrives on wake).

Not working:

Wake from PS2 Keyboard and/or Mouse. No matter PS2 Power jumper position in mother board.

Attached DSDT.

I installed using Newcom bootcd and Retail 10.6.0 OSX DVD

Upgraded to 10.6.7 without problem with combo update + ##### + again custom DSDT to /Extra. Remove NullCPUPower...kext and you're done.

Enjoy it.

Remember to use Chamaleon RC5 7xx as boot loader, and add this lines to com.apple.Boot.plist

<key>GenerateCStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

<key>GeneratePStates</key>

<string>Yes</string>

Graphics card full QE/CI by Lion Kexts + Injector, so DSDT more compatible with others.

Nice day.

Hi,

thnaks, I will try may be this Week-end.

Hello,

I install Leopard this week-end, using #####+dvd install+##### and your dsdt.

All is working, thanks, except two things :

1- impossible to boot without the ##### CD (I didn't find where change SATA in AHCI in Bios, maybe the problem ?)

2- only one resolution for the screen (1024*..), and no possibility to change it.

Do you have a suggestion to solve these points ?

Thanks

hmmm, you should have used nawcom boot cd, i told you the first time, it's got intel PIIX drivers and copies them in /Extra/Extensions after installing OSX.

There's no AHCI support in this motherboard bios, so yes, that's your nº1 problem and solves copying IOATAFamily.kext with IntelPIIXAta plugin into /Extra/Extensions folder. I guess you get stuck at "Still waiting for root device.", boot using -v as parameter (F8 while seen red apple).

For the problem nº2 i solved using a cheap 35$ Ati Radeon hd5450. Using on-board VGA involves more patching in the DSDT.

For the first problem, it seems that in IDE Configuration section, a SATA configuration line existes. I will check this tomorrow night.

For the second one, I need only to insert new graphic card and boot, is that right ?

Last question, must I copy now intel PIIX drivers in /Extra/Extensions from a nawcom boot cd ?

I finally have just modded my bios today to enable AHCI support in the BIOS setup. It took me 3 tries (brick + unmount mobo + unsolder spi flash + reprogram + solder back + mount and test) but at last it's working fine.

It can boot OSX in AHCI mode without any problem and/or added kexts.

If you want it i can supply. PM me and i will tell you link to dowload.

Hello,

what a surprise, thanks a lot for your help ! Really.

I will check this night if I can have AHCI in my bios, but if not, yes, I accept your offer... ;-)

Thanks !

Stock bios have AHCI disbled from menus, impossible to access or select. It's needed modded bios to enable AHCI access.

Great, I've got it and will test tonight.

Hi,

I installed your bios yesterday and have now AHCI option (thanks!). But when IDE conf is on AHCI selection, Bios doesn't detect my hard disk (no DD detected in the AHCI configuration part). So, it's always impossible to boot on MacOS without the ##### CD. I tried also with F8 during boot without CD + -v option and I saw that the problem is an EHCI one (no DD found).

Maybe another idea : verify if my DD is connected to the SATA1 or SATA2 connector and not to the SATA3...

Thanks,

Select AHCI, save changes and reboot. Your disk will appear.

Ensure in AHCI configuration all ports are set to AUTO.

After changing any AHCI setting you must reboot for the BIOS Setup reflect the change and real use.

I saved and reboot after, but no change (AHCI configuration are set to AUTO).

I read in T3's manual that for an IDE usage, DD has to be connected on SATA1 or SATA2 and not SATA3 connector, so I will check this tonight.

One question more : do your memory Card slots run (SD card, memory stick, ...) ?

Try setting bios to defaults. Then save and reboot, and then try setting AHCI again.

LOOK MINE.

If not working for you then do this, reflash stock 0903 bios, go setup load setup defaults, set IDE mode to ENHANCED, save changes, reboot and then reflash modded bios.

Hi,

Thanks, I will try this.

For the Graphic issue, it's done by using a PCI Graphic card ;-) Apple's upgrades are also working well.

All is working very well now, except the boot without the ##### CD.

May be I need to change also something in MacOS (add a special kext) ?

I'll come back to you as soon as possible.

Hi,

I made your tips (reinstall original bios, and after yours) and launched ##### with these parameters (screenshot joigned).

All is working now ! ;-))

Except the front panel with the memory cards.

Thanks a lot for your help and patience.

Nice!!! Did you like the splash screen of the bios? :D

hmmm, haven't used card reader for months, will try and tell you. Try booting with a memory card already inserted into it.

splash screen ? great ;-)

I need to boot twice sometimes to ensure that DD is well detected..., not too bad.

Hello,

all works since I've copied EXTRA folder from ##### CD in my Snow Leopard disk.

I did upgrade too in 10.6.8, but problems are :

usb doesn't mount when I plug in a usb key (impossible to have it on desktop) ;

cd doesn't mount when I insert a cd rom

Do you have an idea ?

Thanks

Hi Guys,

So far I had no success with any boot CD and retail DV combination.

Only distro that partially works with my T3-P5G965 was hazard 10.6.6i. but only in 32bit mode. I've treed both original and pached bios, same difference.

I've treed to replicate yours methods but this is what i got using AHCI bios + ##### + retailDVD + ##### + DSDT.aml I can't get it to boot without CD. With CD, it boots to 32bit mode, everithing works except onboard VGA (1024x768 only) Without CD it stops at [ PCI configuration begin ]

Can You please provide more details of your method?

T3-P5G965 Core2DUO 4Gb RAM SATA DVD/RW/DL SATA HDD nVidia 8400GS 512 PCIe

EDIT:

I've finally got it fully working in 64bit mode with official ASUS BIOS; x86 mod boot CD; retail 10.6 DVD; nVidia 8400GS; 10.6.8 Combo; Realtek cardreader fix and edited NVDANV50Hal.kext :)

n.b. it also works with ATI 4650 HD and modded kexts but HD performance is poor with full HD content :P
