poordna
Okay. I apologize if my last thread was a little hard to follow, now that I've actually done all of the steps I understand a little better what's going on here. What I have done so far: Installed 10.6.0 with Boot 132 and my Retail 10.6.0 DVD Installed a 32-bit kext and boot.plist package put together by the guy who made this HCL entry. Updated to 10.6.6 through combo and single-step updaters Installed Chameleon RC5- r643 What's working? Trackpad is not bugging out, I have sound, I'm able to install and run the USB WiFi adapter I purchased, all seems to be well except for: What's not working? QE. I have been hesitant to try NVEnabler, natit, nvinject/nvinjectGo on this installation because according to the HCL entry I have followed, QE should work natively and does not require anything after I've bumped it up to 10.6.6. Specs? Model : Dell Latitude E6400 Processor : Intel Mobile Core 2 Duo T9600 @ 2800MHz Chipset : Intel PM45 Processor Socket Type : Socket P (478) Memory : 4096MB (2 x 2048 DDR2-SDRAM ) Hard Drive 1 : WDC WD1600BJKT-75F4T0 160GB Video Card + Video card Memory : NVIDIA Quadro NVS 160M 256 MB Optical Drive : DVD-Rom Toshiba-Samsung DVD+-RW TS-U633A 24x 2048 KB Wired Network Card : Intel® 82567LM Gigabit Network Connection Wireless Network Card : Intel® WiFi Link 5300 AGN Sound Card : Dell Computer 82801IB/IR/IH (ICH9 Family) HD Audio Controller Screen size : 14.1 inches wide LCD Bluetooth : None Fingerprint Reader : None Webcam : None Battery Capacity : Lion 86580 mWh I am willing to try other kext packages, nvinject, etcetera, I did back up my extensions folder before installing the kexts that this HCL entry author provided so if worse comes to worse I should be able to revert back. I tried natit/nvinject and others on previous installations with no success. If I use the iHack package he recommended, I get kernel panic on normal booting and in safe mode. I have already spent 10+ hours trying to do this "solo," without any assistance, pure trial and error and I could really use a hand here. Thanks in advance! Do let me know if you need any additional information.
