Acro_Design
would it be posible to buy the webcam off ebay from a macbook pro and retrofit it into a hp dv9000 for example i have a custom no whitlist bios and i gues the drivers or kext whatever would be supported if not already there so it could be a matter of modifying the cable to fit the motherboard. thing is i have found no way of getting the webcam to work on my hp dv9000 and it seems not many of you who use the dv series have either. i have seen mods like this before your feedback please, im thinking outside the box maybe to far
Acro_Design
bump just to kick start this idea here is a link to the kind of mod im talking about here, this is literally hard wiring a usb device to the board and taking power from 1 usb slot, assuming the drivers are pre installed for the device some thing like a usb webcam could work if soldered to a spare usb slot from the inside, dont you think? if thats the case then i may even add my 3g dongle to the inside too edit: ok so what i discribed was not the same as the mod shown but the same applies. and i have seen a usb mod like the one i said about http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/lofiversi...hp/t126862.html right so now i have sorted an iternal usb slot, it was quite easy i just turned one of my usb slots around that was wired but not atached to the board, all i need now is a mac supported usb webcam that is very thin and has a good refresh rate that link is better, he/she has added usb female conectors internally. you can image from there on it would be a case of routing the wires of the webcam and then fitting the disassembled webcam in place
