bhushan2005
Hi, I am just tired of trying out everything. But nothing seems to be working. My PC config: Processor: Intel Pentium 4, 3.2 GHz (Prescott) Motherboard: Intel D945GTP Chipset: Intel® 82945G Express Chipset Family Instruction set supported: MMX, SSE (1,2,3), EM64T Bios Version: NT94510J.86A.4131 RAM: 2 GB DDR2 Graphics: Intel 82852/82855 GM/GME = GMA 950 (128 MB) Ethernet: D-Link DFE-538TX 10/100 Adapter Audio: Intel Integrated Audio DVD Rom: attached with SATA cable to the motherboard HDD: attached with IDE cable to the motherboard (40GB) Microsoft PS2 Keyboard Microsoft USB mouse The HDD has 2 partitions, both primary. On one of them I have Windows XP SP3. The BIOS has HPET option enabled. The previous experiences were: 1. tonymacosx86: Burnt ##### to cd. After booting through the cd and then inserting the Mac SL Retail DVD (downloaded from isohunt) the icon doesnt change to SL. Could not progress further. 2. ToH: Got installed successfully after I had formatted my entire HDD to remove xp also. ToH version is quite old, 10.5.3. So when i tried updating it to 10.5.8 from the built in update system, it crashed. Also, if I have XP in another partition the ToH does gets installed, but does not boot up. 3. iATkos s3 v2: Gets installed without any problem. But does not boot. Tried with cpus=1 busratio =16 arch=i386 flag but still no success. Also, tried customizing the installation by selecting the modified kernel. That too didnt work. Can someone pls help me here. Which distro should i go along with and how? Also, what is the difference between iAtkos s3 v2 and iatkos v7? Waiting for your replies ....... Also, all the times i have tried installing from my dvd drive. ideally i would like to have dual boot xp and SL on the same hdd.
