I have successfully installed VoodooHDA.kext (2.7.2) thus giving me sound.

Only thing wrong is that the sound has a staticness..? to it like a crackling noise when songs are played etc...

Any clues?

Yeah, I can't get this ALC662 to work to save my life....

I had it working once but I don't remember how I even got it to do so.

This is the only thing that's holding me back with my Hackintosh....I have everything else working 100%

I guess this Topic will be my Adventure with ALC662...

To recap some stuff:

-VoodooHDA.kext (Any version) will give me sound but the audio is very garbled and scratchy at times.

-Just about any other method that I try will give me a gray audio icon In Mac OS 10.6.7

I'm going to be straight up and say I'm not the best Hackintosh expert ever but I short of know what I'm doing.

One thing I fail at is DSDT's. So confusing to me. I think that my DSDT is not configured right for the ALC662
In my DSDT I have the following:
Device (HDEF)
			{
				Name (_ADR, 0x001B0000)
				Method (_DSM, 4, NotSerialized)
				{
					Store (Package (0x08)
						{
							"codec-id",
							Buffer (0x04)
							{
								0x62, 0x06, 0xEC, 0x10
							},

							"layout-id",
							Buffer (0x04)
							{
								0x96, 0x02, 0x00, 0x00
							},

							"device-type",
							Buffer (0x11)
							{
								"ALC662"
							},

							"PinConfigurations",
							Buffer (0x28)
							{
								/* 0000 */	0x01, 0x90, 0x02, 0x01, 0x02, 0x01, 0x10, 0x40,
								/* 0008 */	0x11, 0x01, 0x20, 0x90, 0xA1, 0x90, 0x60, 0x90,
								/* 0010 */	0xA1, 0x02, 0x40, 0x30, 0x81, 0x01, 0x50, 0x40,
								/* 0018 */	0x21, 0x02, 0x30, 0x61, 0x4B, 0x01, 0x18, 0x19,
								/* 0020 */	0x1A, 0x1B, 0x1C, 0x1D, 0x14, 0x15, 0x16, 0x0B
							}
						}, Local0)
					DTGP (Arg0, Arg1, Arg2, Arg3, RefOf (Local0))
					Return (Local0)
				}
			}
		}
I think that's all I've done with this DSDT. I don't even know where I got this DSDT so I don't know if It's compatible with my system or not, I have a Biostar A770E3.

I've been stumbled on this problem for the past 3 days....I'm not going to give up till I have my ALC662 running correctly!
