Afal
Slight problem with waking from sleep. My set up is an older configuration: EP45-DS3R mobo with GeForce 8600 GT graphics card. I have recently installed retail OS-X 10.6.3 on a new disk using kakewalk 3.1 and did the combo update to 10.6.7 as per the instructions. I have sound working (at least for the headphone jack - I have nothing to test the other outputs). Since the OSx86 wiki for 10.6.7 for this mobo indicates that they do not have sound working, I'll outline what I did after getting 10.6.7 up and running with Kakewalk: I added ALC889A.Fix.kext (from AUDIO folder of ep45-ds3r_inject.zip) as per instructions on OSx86 wiki for this mobo, but like them still did not have sound until I installed HDAEnabler.kext from LC889a_LayoutID_885.zip. [so I do not know if ALC889A.Fix.kext is actually needed.] I installed the kexts using Kext Utility. Everything seems to work fine until I try to wake it from sleep. I can put the machine to sleep and when I try to wake it, the graphics is all screwed up. It will sometimes come up with the screen, but within a few seconds the screen starts "shaking" and then everything seems to go crazy. (It will often go completely white or white with scattered pastel colored pixels [pink, cyan, green, yellow, etc.] with a few bits of graphics misplaced. I managed to get a screen shot of one of the events and I've upload a fraction of the screen to give an idea of what it looks like. I have not been able to find any solution (and am not certain exactly why this is happening). Fortunately, I figured out that I can at least hold down the (equivalent) CTRL-OPT-COMMAND-F12 on my Logitech keyboard to shut down the machine (although I have to hit return a few times to close any applications that are open). Thanks. UPDATE: I have added more information regarding this problem to the graphics Nvidia forum.
