VLC won't start

Ok hi there,

first of all i am a total Newbie to Hackintosh, but i was able to install it with the Guides from this Forum and a Hazard DVD and lot's of patience. Now everything works fine, but i don't think QE is enabled, but i am not really sure what for i would need it... besides it would be part of my problem:

And here we go: I downloaded VLC for Mac but it won't start up. The process isn't running. There are no userfiles in Library/Preferences to delete. Newest running Version is 0.8.6 but it won't play Videos either.

So i thought i install Plex instead, but it doesn't start, too. I googled a lot and read for example this: http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=130739 but i am sorry i don't really know what it's telling me.

Maybe it could be part of the problem that i changed some files in the Extra and the extra/extensions folder, following the guide not thinking of that i have used a hazard DVD and my System was already working.

So i run 10.6.2

My Motherboard is the Gigabyte GA-P35-DS3R

My graphic card is the ATI Radeon HD 3870

THX for helping

PS: I got another very different question: When switching from Win to Mac, how did you manage not to close all the time your application when you tried to type a @ sign. I have to concentrate as hell not to press Alt+Q on my Windows Keyboard or Command+Q on my Mac Keyboard. Any tips?
