Need help with Lion Install

I'm trying to install Lion on my Hackintosh. I'm using the Chameleon install method. I tried to use #####, but it wouldn't load anything. Here is some basic info on what I've done:

I've got one USB drive for the moment, so I'm using a separate partition as my install source. I followed these instructions to get it ready:

1. Boot Snow Leopard and do the following (copying and correcting steps given by blade5502)

Mount 10.7 image

in Terminal:

open /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/BaseSystem.dmg

Restore “Mac OS X Base System” to a partition (diskutility) //You should have 2 free Partitions: 1 for Installation Files ond another for the System should be installed.

Remove “Packages” alias from System/Installation on that partition

in Terminal: sudo cp -R /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install\ ESD/Packages /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Base\ System/System/Installation

3. Installing fakesmc (very important)

Copy fakesmc.kext to System/Library/Extensions of Mac OS X Base System Installation . Set the proper permissions for next :

$ chown -R 0:0 fakesmc.kext

$ chmod -R 755 fakesmc.kext

The only problem that I encountered with these instructions was the last part (permissions for fakesmc). I tried running the terminal commands that were listed above, but my system did not recognize them. So I used the Kext Utility to repair permissions. Does the utility only repair permissions for the boot drive?

Anyway, everything else was done exactly as was listed above and appeared to be successful. I installed ##### to a USB drive and used it to boot. I was able to select my install partition and I used the -v bootflag. It gives a black screen and says "loading files.............." and then stops. I let it sit for half an hour and nothing else happened.

So I downloaded the Lion version of Chameleon RC5 (was listed in the main Lion thread under new releases) and I installed that to my freshly formatted USB drive. I was able to successfully start Chameleon when I rebooted and I selected my install partition again with the -v bootflag. The kext loading text zips past and then I just get a black screen. I tried to boot the parition without any bootflags and I get the Apple Logo and that's it. I never see the pinwheel and nothing else happens.

Any ideas on what I might have done wrong or what I can try?

My Hardware:

Desktop (w/Snow Leo Install)

- CPU: Intel Pentium D 3.0 Ghz

- RAM: 2 GB DDR2 800 Mhz

- Video: Geforce 8800 GT 1 GB

- Chipset: Intel

- HD: 250 GB SATA 7200 RPM with GUID Partition

The key words here are proper permissions.

By proper it means you need to be root to apply them.

Use sudo before chown/chmod , enter your root password press Enter.

I tried your instructions. I dragged Fakesmc.kext into my terminal window and then added sudo before my commands. It asked for my password and then said: /Volumes/Mac OS X Base System/System/Library/Extensions/fackesmc.kext: is a directory

When I try it without dropping Fakesmc.kext into the terminal window, it says: chown: fackesmc.kext: No such file or directory

What am I doing wrong?
