It looks like a method bcc9 developed patching ConnectorInfo table in ATIFramebuffer.kext to enable audio support on HDMI has been adapted to add LVDS support and enable QE/CI on Mobility Radeon Cards. This is not the new MacBookPros -- this is your existing laptop.

Good News for you 5xxx and 6xxx people: Crazybirdy figured an alternate way to get the dmesg you need to figure out encoder/decoder -- necessary as 1st method using dong's RadeonHD not supported.
(and its easier for everyone else too)
