Can't get Input on ALC888S to work.

hey guys.

i've got an ECS A785GM-AD3 m/b with this Realtek ALC888S sound chip on it.

Sound works fine with both Azalia or VooodooHDA, except for something:

No input.

On Azalia, there's no input - at all. No input devices are recognized by the system.

On VoodooHDA, inputs are correctly recognized - sort of, Rear Pink and Front Pink.

And then this odd issue kicks in. When I talk to the microphone, I can hear what I say through the speakers, but the mic level monitor does not show any activity at all. Why does this happen?

I'd love to understand why does it sound on the speakers but it's not working at all with any program.

I have an ATI Radeon HD card, which seems to be used on the VoodooHDA pref-panel so I can't set up configs for my actual device... I'll try to get the correct vendor-device ID from XP to push it into the plist of the kext.

Maybe that would let me use the pref-panel and fix something...

Any help is appreciated.

Thanks :)
