I failed about 13 times before I successfully installed Snow Leopard and Windows 7 on the same machine. Both work great but Mac has no audio. Installed the realtek ALC888 kext that came with #####, no luck. Tried both separately, both together, even the standard one with AppleHDA.kext and HDAEnabler.kext also. I even tried a few of the Voodoo kexts but crashed my computer and since I don't know how to fix without a fresh install, I only did that once. I don't know what a DSDT is, but I have one. I imagine it's like a preferences file for the OS. My spec's are below, and I have searched and read many a post, but no luck. I confess I don't understand what the system utilities do (like what is build a cache and what are these permissions to be repaired), why does my system crash with the wrong ones, and most importantly, how can I get my audio to work

Any help would be really cool,

much love
