Arez Posted August 19, 2006 Share Posted August 19, 2006 I'm having a little bit of trouble and couldn't find a solution on google. I have a external HD and I want to store all my music on it and still be able to access it from front row. What I did was put my music folder on the ext-HD and then created an alias and put it in my user area. But front row says my library is empty. How do I get FR to recognize my library? INFNITE Posted August 19, 2006 Share Posted August 19, 2006 you can't use an alias in the user area. You have to first go into iTunes-->preferences-->advanced and change the iTunes music location into your desired music storage folder. Also, make sure you have "keep music folder organized" box checked. You then have to select advanced menu and select consolidate library and the music you have will be moved into the new folder. I think you have to manually delete the old music files but do NOT delete the two library files in the iTunes folder.
