Verify if DSDT is used by OSX

Hi,

getting my hands wet with osx.

from reading about the DSDT file I understood that you have to tell OSX to use the DSDT.

so with ##### running in #####, a DSDT will not be used by osx.

is that correct?

so if i extracted a DSDT, is it enough to copy the .aml to extras or do I need to tell OSX explicitly to use the DSDT.

does DSDT SE install take care of installing the dsdt into the boot process ? or do i need to run ##### with the DSDT option enabled ?

How can i verify if my DSDT is actually used during boot ?

cheers

bubba

dsdt inject is done by chameleon by default, if you put your dsdt.aml in /Extra or /.

as far as i know, when you extract your unmodified dsdt you will must do some changes before you can use it with osx

More precisely - it would be pointless to load an unmodified DSDT.

Extract DSDT in OS X. If you get your modified DSDT, then it's loaded.

As Noam said, Chameleon will load DSDT.aml if it's in /Extra, you don't have to do anything.
