Yes, I agree that it stinks and everything that it isn't included, but uh, there's not much use for it right now, as andazp said.

There is use for it ;-)

Either i help Apple testing software all the line down indirectly or not. If they choose, they have to put iChat in my hands now :)

 

You know, in leopard you can resize "text boxes" like the one i'm just writing in now. Developers don't need that in my opinion :D

 

You're right, developers don't need resizing text boxes. But, Apple wasn't going to remove every little detail that devs don't "need." iChat backdrops is a big one.

So not only is it only a demonstration version of Leopard, but it doesn't even necessarily pack all the features that Jobs showcased. In most respects, I suppose it really is strictly a developer preview that fulfills basic needs to get programmers familiar with xcode 3.0, Time Machine, and most of the any other main features.

 

I guess we'll have to be patient until Spring '07 to enjoy all the new "toys" and GUI enhancements.
