baadc0de
I'm looking for a cheap way to get QE/CI on my old G4 400Mhz with AGP graphics before I sell it. You know, the ones that come stock with a Rage128Pro. Is there a way to run a PC GeForce4 Ti 4200 card on this mac?

The cheapest way is to flash a fx5200. http://www.cubeowner.com/forums//index.php?showtopic=8807 The FX5200 ROM files are here: http://littlevampirebites.com/fxflash/
blackandblue
Ill second that. im running one in my sawtooth agp g4. mine was $60AU about a year ago. only trouble i had was flashing it, i used an old hp desktop and when you put the agp card in it wouldnt display anything in dos. I had to write it down and do it blind and hope for the best! but it all worked out alright. other than the quicksilver cpu i wedged into that mac it was the best money i spent on it! user2
ah {censored}. How significant is Core Image now? Will I get by? I don't think it's terribly important but it is pretty cool.
A Nonny Moose
ah {censored}. How significant is Core Image now? Will I get by? It's not important, especially to Photoshop users (who will always get by on more RAM than anything else). So unless you're running Aperture, there won't be an issue. Prasys
CI - DirectX 9 Dont worry , you can still live with it , you have OpenGL with you and QE and OSX 10.5 will have Software-CI , that means it will use the CPU to do CI . So just pump the ram to get it kickin' !
