Hi all,

This part of the tutorial, impossible for me to succeed.

14. Go back to “Terminal.app” and type the following (drag and drop FakeSMC.kext from the folder):

sudo su

[enter your password]

chown –R 0:0 FakeSMC.kext

chmod –R 755 FakeSMC.kext

mac-pro:~ ...$ /Volumes/Mac\ OS\ X\ Install/System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext
-bash: /Volumes/Mac OS X Install/System/Library/Extensions/FakeSMC.kext: is a directory
mac-pro:~ ...$ sudo su
sh-3.2# chown – R 0:0 FakeSMC.kext
chown: –: Invalid argument
sh-3.2# chmod –R 755 FakeSMC.kext
chmod: Invalid file mode: –R

You have a solution, please ?

Thanks advance.

Thanks for your help, unfortunately it still doesn't work, maybe it has to do with my motherboard, I have no idea.. I guess I'm going to have to wait till Tonymacx86 comes up with something..

test with a 8Gb USB stick, the stick in FAT MBR after you install the table and prepare XPC on tools, remove and replace the key when prompted. Copy the contents of ##### 1.4. I started in this way. SATA uses only. detaches the rest of the hd, if you have hd cascade perhaps annoying.

Do not put another one in the key (do not put dsdt, kext. other)

First and foremost, disable serial port. Then disable any ports that is not natively supported in Mac. Boot ignore cache.

I don't know how you guys are getting it working, I'm having a lot of trouble with getting it booted, for me the GUI doesn't show up, I'm using a USB & External HD, maybe its cuz of that? I've got a H55M motherboard, been running Snow Leopard flawlessly.. I've even tried a different tutorial, someone posted a tutorial with Chameleon..

I guess I'll have to wait for official release

sorry for the insistence

I think the problem could be the usb hard disk

8 gb stick test as described by the post just above.

follow the guide on a topic, no doubt will install.

I can not boot up from 2 GB stick, for example to remain stationary with MBR boot start

Looks like Lion finished booting, it's just waiting for graphics. Use a kext or somethIng to enable graphics.

@tdtran, thanks for the advice. Ok will try.

This guide works in my Notebook?? I have tried XPC (not works) and ##### (reboot after MBR Start), my Notebook is in the Signature (it's 32Bit)

Sorry for my bad English, i'm Italian

I think it's because ATOM processors don't work if you're installing on a netbook. I dunno if Lion supports 32-bit, it's meant to only work on Core2Duo and up.

I not have a Netbook, i have a NOTEbook with Intel Celeron M processor in 32Bit.

I HAD TROUBLE TOO.

EVENTUALLY I USED WINDOWS 7 TO SETUP ##### FLASH DISK (XP FAILED)MAC FAILED.

REMOVE EVERY EXTRA PERIPHERAL. SET BIOS TO BOOT USB ONLY.DISABLE OTHERS.

LEGACY ENABLED. HIGH SPEED OR FULL DOESNT MATTER.

PUT USBIBOOT IN PORT 1 HUB1. TOP PORT CLOSEST IN TO MOBO...

JUST GET ##### TO SHOW UP FIRST.

PRESS W WHEN IT TURNS BLACK..!! PRESS D OR I TO CHANGE RES.

HOPE I HELPED ALL IN CAPS..

i have mosTLY ALL things working (ASUS P5wdh delx )

VOODOOHDA.. NATIT NVENABLER. QE CI ENABLED. DSDT PATCHED ,ICON FIX ETC.

NULLCPU WASNT NEEDED FOR ME. IT WORKS WITH INTELCPUPOWERMANAGEMENT. ,..HMM

A BIT OF "FLAKY" USB DETECTION PROBLEMS THOUGH

( COMES AND GOES)

... EHCI AQUISITION ERRORS. ANYONE HAVE SOLUTIONS FOR THOSE?

i notice DONT mix high speed with low speed devices helps... ie .. mousen kb on 1 usb set.

and usb drives on another set. keep the speed separated.... seems to help.

keep posting...

sincro77

I still have my problem and the graphickexts doesn't change anything. I need heeelp ;)

yes i kept getting that stupid {censored} ^%$@#!@#$*$^ grey box {censored} on my kingston usb stick.. i think it happens if it doesnt like the :guitar: ..configuration or something.... so... i switched to a cheap generic usb stick ....lo and behold.. and it never happens with that one..........dont ask me./????

.?

otherwise when that b.s. happened i would run back to windows 7 comp and reformat and reinstall ##### (takes 10 secnds.) and go back and boot it again.fresh... make sure the correct settings are in your bios and no extra devices.. you can plug in usb devices afgter ##### gui is running by pressing "v" to refresh devices.. ##### is not "read only .. it writes to the stick and thats why its able to screw up.

good luck

hope this helps ...your so close.....

keep at it.

But can i install the kext to an usb drive with kextutility? Lion doesn't work and i Can only use my 10.6.7

yes sure.

Copy the kext in /System/Library/Extensions Lion of HD, then open a terminal and do this:

sudo -s

(enter the password)

chmod -R 755 (drag here the kext in the directory above)

chown -R root:wheel (same)

touch (drag here to the Extensions folder Lion HD)

exit

sudo -k
