Hello Everybody

I recently bought a Dell through my company because I got a good deal on it and hey I'm a bit cheap.

In the Windows and Linux world I'm accomplished, but with Mac not so much so I decided to hackintosh my new Dell.

My System specs are as follows

Dell XPS Studio 9100

Core i7 2.8

18 GB mem (I'm going to virtulize a bit)

Ati HD5670 w/ 1gig (1 vga + 1 Dvi)

Dual Dell monitors

a separate HD for my Mac install

So far I've been able to consistently get a basic bootable Image running in 32-bit running everything except graphics. (I'm running the Chameleon ATI exp bootloader)

and I only once (can't figure out how) got everything working except sound with both monitors at full res in 64-bit going.

If anyone has some experience with this machine or the video card or you just want to give me some encouragement it's appreciated.

I have learned one thing that might help other noobs. I took an extra harddrive I had kicking around and threw it into my machine. everytime I make a successful upgrade I use restore and copy it to the drive.

Then when things go wrong I just restore the good image. It saves me a ton of time.

Cheers everyone. I'll be writing back as I work through .
