Hello folks,

I recently installed new Highpoint RocketRAID 644 card into my PC. I searched for Mac OSX drivers and found one. I tried to install a drive on Mac OS X 10.6.6 operating system. Then I restarted system but it happened nothing. I did not see any activity in boot time (option -v) but it just mentioned about PCI 4 (ID 0644).

Does anyone have any experience with that RR644 card and get it working so far? On Windows 7 system, everything worked fine.

Thanks!

Ok, I checked kextstat and did not see any rr64x.kext in that list. I tried to kextload it but it said that already loaded or successfully loaded. I tried to kextunload it but it was unable unload it because it has instances.

Also, I noticed that HighPoint RAID managemented had started in system.log but I can't access http://localhost:7402.

I've downloaded the Driver package and noticed that there are 3 different driver packages

Open the package with pacifist and try an other driver perhaps that helps. My card works with stock Apple drivers so i had no problems

EDIT: Seems that the other 2 drivers are for Tiger and Leopard. Maybe its a problem with PCI Adresses and/or DSDT related - have you tryed the card in an other PCI-E Slot? You can also put the card in an x16 slot!

Ok,

There is only one empty PCIe 16x slot that I put RR644 card into. I installed Mac OS X 10.6.3 with #####/#####.

 • 5 months later...

All folks,

Good news for OS X Lion support! They now has native drivers. When I upgraded to OS X Lion 10.7 operating system, it finally recongized that RocketRAID 644 card and all disk drives through that card! You do not have to install rr644 drivers because OS X Lion already has native drivers.

That is all.

Thanks,
