sound Driver

i have a toshiba C655-S5061 with I3 processor and ive been trying to get my sound work, but i couldn't :(
anyone can help me plz ?

Help if it is known what sound chip that board uses. Run "System Info App" from here http://www.insanelym...howtopic=219584

here is the device line i found after running the software:
1274;Ensoniq;1371;ES1371 [AudioPCI-97];Multimedia controller;Multimedia audio controller

and on windows is known as "Conexant CX20671 SmartAudio HD"

I've been using Mac os for only 2 weeks,, excuse me for my question , but what voodooHDA.kext..
i believe that AppleHDA.kext is the sound driver !

voodoohda.kext is an alternative sound driver... excuse me if i think you should use SEARCH more often.

I had lots of problems with the VoodooHDA and had to delete that manually.  Then I used Multibeast to install the onboard sound drivers and got it working.  Do you have ALC8xx sound?  If so, the same method should work.
