Excuse what is probably a basic question for most but I am struggling to find the Mac equivalent on my keyboard to do the following -

When I open a folder containing many items I'd like to delete (ie photos) I am at present having to delete selected ones one at a time.

If I have a folder containing for example 100 photos and wish to delete for example numbers 40-60 only which is the quickest way to do it ?

I know you can highlight the first ie No 40 and using the keyboard No 60 and it will select all those in between so you can delete them as a group.

I know its possible but I guess I'm still thinking in Windows mode and cannot seem to find the Mac keys to do it.

Any help therefore much appreciated.

Hi - I have tried this but I'm afraid it doesn't appear to work !

What I was attempting to do was if for example i had 100 jpg photos numbered 1-100 and wanted to delete ie all those from 20-80 which was the the easiest way to select and delete them.

If I hold down the 'cmd' key it allows me to highlight them one at a time ( rather slow way of doing it ) or by using the 'up arrow key' it will select all those between the two selected which was what I was trying to do.

However what I found was this would only work if using the list view and not in icon view as I was trying.

Although I view in Icon view I now find that I can switch to list view to highlight all those I want to delete and select them, they will remain selected if I switch back once again to Icon view.

This is the easiest method I have found to date but it appears odd that you cannot use the 'up arrow' key to select them in Icon view in the first instance.
