jake c
Hi everyone! I got ipc 10.5.6 successfully running on my computer, and everything seemed to be going perfectly. Everything except internet. from what i read, there's a lot of problems with wireless, so i wont get into that. however, what's frustrating is that even my hardline internet doesn't work. I made sure that i have the correct drivers, i got all the information right out of the system information utility in win7, and this is what i have: OS Name Microsoft Windows 7 Professional System Model HP Pavilion dv6000 (GB114AV) System Type X86-based PC Processor Genuine Intel® CPU T2130 @ 1.86GHz, 1867 Mhz, 2 Core(s), 2 Logical Processor(s) SMBIOS Version 2.4 Installed Physical Memory (RAM) 2.00 GB HL-DT-ST DVDRAM GSA-T20N ATA Device Mobile Intel® 945 Express Chipset Family Resolution 1280 x 800 x 59 hertz [00000007] Intel® PRO/100 VE Network Connection [00000011] Intel® PRO/Wireless 3945ABG Network Connection Also, I attached a couple of pictures of what the Mac OSX gives me when i boot into in terms of networking and such. it looks like mac is detecting the card, and it even picks up its address but it refuses to connect automatically. finally, here's what the ifconfig gives me in the terminal: jakes-hp-pavilion-dv6000-gb114av:~ Jake$ ifconfig lo0: flags=8049<UP,LOOPBACK,RUNNING,MULTICAST> mtu 16384 inet6 fe80::1%lo0 prefixlen 64 scopeid 0x1 inet 127.0.0.1 netmask 0xff000000 inet6 ::1 prefixlen 128 gif0: flags=8010<POINTOPOINT,MULTICAST> mtu 1280 stf0: flags=0<> mtu 1280 en0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 1500 ether 00:1b:77:b4:e8:b9 media: autoselect status: inactive supported media: autoselect fw0: flags=8863<UP,BROADCAST,SMART,RUNNING,SIMPLEX,MULTICAST> mtu 2030 lladdr 00:24:1b:00:ba:1c:4e:00 media: autoselect <full-duplex> status: inactive supported media: autoselect <full-duplex> please help me!! sorry for being so new and clueless. i spend all night to get even this far! jake c
so it looks like the mac address that Mac OSX is recognizing is the one on my wireless card, and it's classifying it as an ethernet card. that means its not getting my ethernet at all
