waqy
Hey guys first time poster here I posted this same urgent help message on another forum but received no help unfortunately. Maybe you guys can be different I've got a HP 2510p laptop on which I have managed to get iDeneb 10.5.7 working, with ethernet, bluetooth and sound all working fine. I decided to try and install Hazard 10.6.6i as I need Snow Leopard to run for some softwares. I cant seem to get the installer to run due to a kernel panic(picture below). Can anyone dissect the problem and give me a solution? dothacker
no, boot up the mac, go to System/Library/Extensions or Extra/Extensions and delete ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext. if you can't boot it up, then use terminal. Pop in the distro dvd and use the terminal from there.

dothacker
no, it has soemthing to do with the bootcd you're using. ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext works great on desktops, but not on laptops.

waqy
Thats where I got the above screenshot from, by running -v at the loader. seems to be ElliotForceLegacyRTC again though I removed this from the DVD when installing... It also says dependancy: com.apple.iokit.IOACPIFamily(1.3.0).. Edit: I've used the distro DVD to boot into the terminal, and Im in the Extensions folder and Elliot is nowhere to be seen..should i remove IOACPIFamily.kext? filipesub
Hello, I own a HP 2510p too, but after following all the steps you mentioned, I still can't install. I've removed the ElliottForceLegacyRTC.kext, I even patched the dvd with SL_10.6.6i_IOATAFamily.ppf. Still having kernel panic, after loading firewire. Can you confirm which BIOS settings you have? also your ISO source or version please? King regards
WooHu
I haven't tried all of this yet, but I can confirm that the 2510p will boot OS X with ##### with full resolution, but I haven't install OS X yet, so I can't confirm sound or sleep, etc.
SoundsGreat
Hi, Am having some problems with my install, I had the very same issues of Elliot and I deleted that from the ISO and burned a new image from which I was able to install successfully ! I removed the same file from the systems after install as well,So far so good ! But not really when I try to boot it just won't and gets stuck at the apple logo screen in normal mode, just doesn't move at all,in verbose mode it gets stuck at the Realtek ethernet driver stage ? or so,but no kernel panic or anything it just doesn't move beyond this ! My System is HP Pavilion DV3005TX,Spec goes : C2D T5550 (1.83) 2Gb DDR2 250Gb WD Scorpio Black Any other details required ? I've attached the pic for the reference in verbose mode boot. Please somebody advice whats the issue,Should I remove or update the Ethernet Kext ? Regards.

Well I sort of solved this myself, After couple of reboots I replaced the IOC network family kext with some new one that I found on a site, even then the result was same ! So I tried to boot in safe mode and viola it booted in without a problem ! Then I downloaded the following realtek driver package from this site and installed and now it boots normally and Am able to use the net ! Realtek Package However its far from being over or perfect !! I still don't have Audio working on it and the damn Intel wireless is still not working,So the Nvidia GPU ! I have additionally installed a package for the same from this site but still the display is in native mode with no options or such. The mouse pad doesn't work fully and such,so still some issues to iron out but overall working fine and dandy !! Nvidia Update Now any of you kind folks tell how the heck Am I suppose get these things working ??? Regards.

haider11
hey i want help for hazard 10.6.6i dvd. i installed it on my computer after many tries and at the end i was able to do it by selecting the options in the installation process like chameleon rc5 nvidia enabler ahci sata fix legacy ahci sata and pata fix voodoo 2.7 sound driver ntfs and usb fix before selecting these options i was not able to boot the system after installation because after installation the system just gives me the a blank screen and say no boot media found. but now it gives me an option to boot from mac but when i select it, the system gives the error after few seconds of loading that root device not found or i think it says that root directory not found. i am attaching some images of my system specification and just want to tell you that i am using a seagate 40gb IDE hard disk only for this mac installation. no multiple operating systems on this pc just mac os.
