But can you give me some precision : At which time do you have kernel panic? Which version of snow do you use? Original or DVD copied? Do you have the xps m1210? ... I installed the UpdateCombo10.6.8 successfully! Install official UpdateCombo10.6.8 or update online, then reboot. Replace kext AppleSMBusPCI.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/ (with Kext Utility) with that of version 10.6.7 or mine in attached file. Replace FakeSMC.kext in /Extra with the version 2.5 with Kext Utility in attached file. Reboot and enjoy !!! And for those which as me have a wifi Broadcom which completely slows down the system and which poses problem: Open terminal and copy/save these two files : cp -r /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Apple80211Monitor.bundle /Users/username/Documents/ cp -r /System/Library/Extensions/AppleSMBusPCI.kext /Users/username/Documents/ Then install official UpdateCombo10.6.8 or update online, then reboot. Replace kext AppleSMBusPCI.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/ (with Kext Utility) with that of version 10.6.7 or mine in attached file. Then open terminal : sudo -s mv /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Apple80211Monitor.bundle /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/Apple80211Monitor.bundle.bak Copy old Apple80211Monitor.bundle in /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/ cp -r /Users/username/Documents/Apple80211Monitor.bundle /System/Library/SystemConfiguration/ Copy com.apple.Boot.plist and smbios.plist in /Extra (attached file) Replace FakeSMC.kext in /Extra with the version 2.5 with Kext Utility in attached file.
