Thomasssss
Hi! I'm working on my Hackintosh for 4 days now, and I can't find the good solution. I tried #####, #####-GE, with normal boot, -x mode cpu=1 mode and busratio=21 mode and the combinations of these, but I never had a good installation. First I got "dirty disc error", but it's a fake, because the disc runs on my gf's mac or just simply don't get the installation screen. I use the retail dvd of Snow Leopard. With #####-GE the screen hangs on Nvidia Geforce GT 420M 0MB line with -x mode. I haven't tried -x32 mode. My specs are: CPU: Intel i5 560M Main board: Intel HM57 (Dell l501x) BIOS version A04 RAM: 4GB DDR3 Sound card: Realtek ALC665 Video Card: Intel HD + Nvidia Gefore 420M 1GB with optimus Wifi card: Intel Wireless N 1000 Is it possible someway to install snow leopard on it? Or does it worth it? I mean is it a huge performance difference between using SL as a virtual machine or as a normal operation system? Now I try to get my DSDT.aml from a program called AIDA64 on windows 7 ( I hate windows ) But Im not sure why is it useful for PRE-installation. Can I include it in ##### if I customize it and does it make my installation more succesful? thx! I realised that my problem was that the .iso of the retail went wrong during the burning...sucks.. so now I will try the process again. But anyway: can you use the wifi card? Cause I can't live without wifi...

Thomasssss
wifi doesn't work "today" but I don't search to much for that.I think u can use a usb dongle wifi.see you.... Hi! I started installing again with a retail dvd from apple shop. I could manage to partition my HDD, put win7 on one part and started installing snow leo on first. Nawcom boots, ok, flags: -x -v busratio=20 (cause I have i5 560m cpu) and intsallation starts, but hangs on 27minutes left... what should I do now? alepartt
what u mean for hang?got a kernel panic?I dont tried a dual boot with windows 7 but I think is better install osx in hd and then partition by disk utility and install w7(search for guide dual boot)try to install without flags -x -v start only with the busratio. Thomasssss
Hi again! Finally I managed to install with nawcom mod cd without the -x flag. Now I have snow leo installed on partition 1 and win 7 on partition two. I installed 10.6.6 combo update and ##### ##### method with some additional kexts. I had to reinstall windows 7 cause it went wrong after the installation of SL. Results: Video card does not work...just 1024x768 resolution. I can boot to SL with the nawcom cd but it's slow and not so comfortable. I installed EasyBCD to windows, then I can boot to chameleon without the cd but then I can't run SL. It starts booting but after some seconds the pc restarts without booting. So I can just boot into SL with the nawcom cd, but not via chameleon. Is it possible someway to boot into SL without the nawcom cd? I'm searching for a solution where I can choose between the two OS and what boots quickly. Other: Wifi card does not work...is there any kexts for it? But the good news are: USB works, HD webcam works, Touchpad works And after the long booting process it's quite quick. Thx for helping! Thomasssss
Hi! I tried to make my custom dsdt today with DSDTSE. Thomasssss
Hi! After reading and reading and reading enormous amount of forums, my Hackintosh is still a {censored}. I understood that these bootloaders are kinda similar just their com.apple.boot.plist files are different and the chameleon version. We can use the nawcom mod cd or the ##### as well just we have to use the graphicsenabler=no flag. I installed the newest Chameleon (r700) now when it boots with graphicsenabler=yes flag it realises that its Nvidia Geforce GT420M but 0MB and hangs...no boot. So I still can't boot from hard disk...just with nawcom cd. Or if I use grapgicsenabler=no i can boot from hdd, but then I don't have touchpad or keyboard. HOW IS THIS POSSIBLE?? I reinstalled voodooPS2 several times but no luck. I also included the compiled DSDT.aml...but why?? No performance effect. Video card doesnt work...and maybe it won't....wifi neither....29$ for the retail for a useless half OS...great :S Does anybody have any succes with these issues? ReArmedHalo
Hey everyone, I too have a l501x and am trying to install OSX on it. I havn't started yet because i havn't found any good information yet. I see that some here have had some success. I am new to the whole hackint0sh thing as my previous computer i wasn't able to run it properly (or even at all sometimes) I just had a few questions (and sorry if the answers are in posts above i must have missed it) -What distro did you guys use? -What options do i need to select (if any) during the install process? -Anything else i should know? Again, sorry if these questions have been answered. I am really eager to try and get this working. If I figure out anything i will def let you guys know too. -ReArmedHalo http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=247741 check this out
