Fixing my install.

Cut the story short, I've installed vanilla Snow Leopard onto my laptop, which works mostly fine apart from installing a few extra kexts. However, I didn't have sound so I tried installing the HDA Audio drivers (Realtek ALC883) when then system told me I'd have to power down. It now does not boot up, merely tells me that it needs to power down before getting anywhere, with no error message.

It's booted up fine in safemode with the -x option, so I guess all I need to know is how to uninstall the troublesome additions. Is it simply a matter of removing the kexts from the extensions folder or is there more work I need to do?

TIA.
