Hi everyone! I'm a french newbie and found many helps in this forum to start my hackintosh!

I tried many distribs and finally had an OS X working with Iatkos v7 only.

My motherboard is an Asus M2N-1394

My proc is an AMD 64 Athlon X2 2.1Ghz

I have 2GB od DDR Ram

1 sata HD Maxtor 250gig

1 IDE DVDRW drive

My chipsets are MCP61

My graphic card is a Geforce 7300GT 128Megs

Well my CG work, my sound work but i have some problems.

I have 6 usb ports but only 2 working (the one with my mouse and the one with my keyboard)

I have a mac keyboard so it's also usb hub and the usb of the keyboard work.

But the 4 other usb don't work and if i change the keyboard from usb1 to usb 2 the keyboard work but the usb 1 no, it seems that i only can have the keyboard and the mouse on the usbs...

Also i don't have any network, i tried to put a pci network card Realtek RTL8139 and inject the kext but no change, no network and now when i go to the system preferences - network, it freeze. I can't repair the permissions with kext utility because it freeze also after trying to rebuild mkext...

I'm sure i made many mistakes but i'm so happy after days of non working installs to have leopard working (not perfectly but working).

Sorry for my english and thank you for any help ;)

Edit:

Well, i have some good news if anybody read my topic, i have network and internet. It works with the good kexts AND Kextutility! I'm so happy!

Now i would like to have my usb working and also a 100% good boot because 2 times on 3 leopard don't boot because of: applenforceata: found 0 units

I tried so many things, i can't have my usbs, my network working... I tried a wireless usb dongle but my usb don't work so... I'd really appreciate any help to try something... :)

Your Ethernet networking is via the nForce 430 (MCP61) built-in Gigabit/ MAC driving an Attansic PHYceiver...........so have you tried nForceLAN and Attansic kexts?

With USB what do you see in System Profiler under USB?

Thanks Verdant. Yes the nforce lan kext has worked after a kext utility pass. I'm now writing you with safari under my leopard :) (Sorry again for my english I'm french).

I include a printscreen of my ystem profiler under usb :) Thank you :)

You are only showing USB 1.1 in System Profiler under USB.......so try booting with the flag

EHCIacquire=Yes Enables the EHCI fix (disabled by default)

as you should see:

USB High-Speed Bus:

Host Controller Location: Built-in USB

Host Controller Driver: AppleUSBEHCI

USB Bus:

Host Controller Location: Built-in USB

Host Controller Driver: AppleUSBOHCI

Thanks, i'm gonna try this now. I hope i will boot quickly because many times i can't boot because of "applenforceata found 0 units" looping. So I reboot until it's ok... Thanks again

So 1st time no boot, Apple screen charging infinite. So i reset and boot in verbose mode plus your flag. I'm now trying the usb ports but nothing with my usb key and in system profiler i have the same screen as before :) You think the flag didn't work in verbose mode? I'm a real newbie, i tapped:

-v EHCIacquire=Yes

In verbose mode i can always see many errors about usb with timeout 100ms

After 15 minutes, i just tried and the same kernel panic :D:)

On the chameleon screen it's now written:

Darwin/ x86 boot v5.0.132 - Chameleon v2.0 r

I think the install failed should have corrupt the old chameleon? How can i boot now? Impossible to reinstall it with the iatkos dvd, it fail... :D:(

Pffiuuu! With another loader i just succeeded to boot! Idk why because many times it hasn't boot and now i'm in leopard! But now i don't want to have other problems, how can i fix the boot? And after fixing that we can try to fix my previous problems with usb (it's not so important).

I don't remember the name, a very basic, it just let chosse me 2 buttons:

boot from dvd ---- Boot from OS X (my HD) and no option for verbose mode or other.

I think it's Xiezhy or bootthink something like that.

OK.........I am familiar with BootThink...........post #1 explains how to uninstall it........then try installing Chameleon 2.0 RC3 using Dr. Hurt's installer........

Thanks but i'm not sure to understand. The post says:

"to run the file uninstall inside /darwin/, the MBR and DBR will be restored. Reboot your computer. If ok to delete the following files: boot, btldr, btldr.mbr and the folder darwin"

Is it good english?? I really don't understand the step by step to uninstall it... Also i'm really scared to reboot my computer now it's working (I know I'll need to!) and when i installed bootthink the install failed with an error message si i'm not sure it is well installed... Can i uninstall it directly from Leopard? Thanks again!

There should be a folder called /Darwin/ and inside this folder, there should be a file named Uninstall.........running this file should restore the MBR and DBR......

Can you confirm this?
