Restarts Resuming from Hibernation

Since I know sleep is not supported on my hackintosh, I decided to play around with hibernation... I'm using mode 1 (just hibernation, no suspending to ram). Secure VM is off.

When starting up (trying to resume from hibernation), I select my Mac volume. You can see the computer is reading the hibernate (sleepimage) file. When it finishes (series of 7-10 progress indicators are all white), the computer restarts.

If left on it's own, it'll continue to do this in a loop indefinitely.

any ideas? I'd really love to make this work (choosing sleep mode 0 or 3 and shutting the lid of the computer cause the machine to reboot)
