To get help you first need to do some research on the Averatec 2370 specifications first and then put them in your signature.......the MOBO chipset and CPU are important details, along with the amount of RAM, HDD and DVDRW type (i.e. SATA or PATA/IDE) and the integrated graphics chipset or graphics card installed...... I will start over then.. should I create my partitions before going into the OSX cd? or can I partition within the OSX? The computer already has XP installed on it and I dont want to lose that so should I do this before hand?

The computer already has XP installed on it and I dont want to lose that so should I do this before hand? If you already have XP installed on it, then use XP to set up a primary partition for OS X and format that partition as FAT32, then use OS X Disk Utility on the iPC 10.5.6 Install DVD under Utilities to reformat the empty FAT32 volume as Mac OS Extended (Journaled).......then carry on with the installation........... BUT since you are putting OS X on the same HDD as XP, I recommend you first do your research on dual-booting OS and XP...........for example, see here...... There are no errors on the screen but it is now seemingly stuck saying "MAC Framework successfully Initialized using 10485 buffer headers and 4096 cluster IO buffer headers IOAPIC: Version 0x11 Vectors 0:23" any idea?? do I just need to wait?? Make sure that you burn to a good quality DVD at the slowest possible speed i.e. ≤ x4 burn speed.......... Also I tried to go through the process again and this time using that -v cpu=1 command there were a bunch of lines that said warning, and not found?? doesnt sound good. verdant
Yes I got to the customize menu, and did not choose any languages at all.. Ignore the "Install Failed" message window that will appear after the install has completed, and just click "Restart".......the failure is due to OS X not finding the EFI firmware interface and not being able to tell the BIOS firmware interface to reboot from the HDD volume on which OS X has been installed....... verdant
OK, I reburned the ISO and it installed with no "Install Failed" message.. Now how do I go about installing my drivers for Wireless, Video Display, Sound Card, and whatever else is not there?? Install DPCIManager 0.3 and post the entire output here, so I can see the details of your audio and network devices.......... As for your video display, as I said your NVIDIA GeForce Go 6100 Revision A2 is not supported by OS X for CI/QE, so there is no "video driver" to install....... In your com.apple.Boot.plist file you can include a line to boot with your display's natural resolution: In Terminal type, sudo /Applications/TextEdit.app/Contents/MacOS/TextEdit /Library/Preferences/SystemConfiguration/com.apple.Boot.plist which will open your com.apple.Boot.plist file in TextEdit and allow you to directly edit and save changes to your com.apple.Boot.plist file............ Use TextEdit to insert <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x800x32</string> as shown below (only part of your com.apple.Boot.plist file): <?xml version="1.0" encoding="UTF-8"?> <!DOCTYPE plist PUBLIC "-//Apple//DTD PLIST 1.0//EN" "http://www.apple.com/DTDs/PropertyList-1.0.dtd"> <plist version="1.0"> <dict> <key>Graphics Mode</key> <string>1280x800x32</string> <key>Kernel</key>

OK from the DPCIManager output, your MCP51 Ethernet Controller VendorID:DeviceID is 10de:0269, i.e. 0x026910de, which means that you should install eno's nForceLAN.kext in /System/Library/Extensions/, while your MCP51 High DefinitionAudio VendorID:DeviceID is 10de:026c, i.e. 0x026c10de, which I believe is Realtek ALC850 sound chip, so try this kext in /System/Library/Extensions/ AppleAC97Audio.kext.zip Ok so I have placed the dpci folders on my USB stick. But the problem is I can't find an installation file?? It is here: DPCIManager/build/Release/DPCIManager.app Ok so I have placed the dpci folders on my USB stick. OK do you happen to have the textedit installation file? also I have no clue on how to install ktexts.. I also have had to do a complete reinstall (which im doing right now) because I tried to install MacVidia 1.0.88 and it caused the install to keep crashing at the white apple logo..
