It works - triple display involving a 27" cinema display on a Hackintosh:

1) Have a working retail 10.6.5 installation using Chameleon_2.0_RC5_INSTALLER_r629

2) Insert your device ID into ATIRadeonX3000.kext and ATI5000Controller.kext

(eg. 0x68B81002 for XFX Radeon HD 5770 single slot (with mini display port ;-))

3) Add the following lines to your com.apple.Boot.plist

<key>GraphicsEnabler</key>
       <string>yes</string>
       <key>UseAtiROM</key>
       <string>Yes</string>

4) Copy the boot file out of the zip into your root (not sure if this is really necessary)

5) Use Kext Utility

6) Insert your new XFX Radeon HD 5770 single slot into your Hackintosh and connect your 27" cinema display to the mdp

Was it not suppose to work or something?

Someone confirming 4 monitor's and 2 XFX 5770's. Not sure where that thread was but nice set up you must have.

Sorry I did not want to bother you with my post.

2 cards and 4 monitors is not equal to 1 card and 3 monitors especially confirming a working mini displayport on a low cost Radeon 5770 - on my search I could not find anything reliable about that.

It might be interesting to anybody looking for a alternative to these expensive mini display adapters - and thats what you have to face up to when buying a 27" cinema display.

Just interesting considering I set up a customer with a Dell Monitor's w/displayports running eyeinfinity through the DVI/VGA/Displayport all three display outputs work but kinda figured some other Hackintoshers had 3 monitors already running earlier with an HD5770.

Conclusion was you can.
