Greetings,
I just installed SL 10.6.0 following the guide and video from technow.cc. Sound and resolution were not working (as documented in guide), post install script fixed those two issues.
So I have working wireless, bluetooth, sound and screen resolution.. was hesitant to upgrade to 10.6.1 but that went fine.
Now my question is, given everything is working pretty well, I would like to upgrade to 10.6.5, I am a bit reluctant but would welcome recommendations.
If there is a guide that you can point me to would be great.
Thanks!

10.6.5 is not a good idea right now, but 10.6.4 runs like a charm.
here is my tutorial für the 1000H, could also work on your 1000HE, but dont use the DSDT and the BIOS from my tutorial. its just for the 1000H.

I have a 1005HA and followed this guide, got my 10.6.0 installed and updated to 10.6.5 without issues. I assume it would be similar. Look at the last comment for the 10.6.5 update.

@speedert,
Are you sure you didn't have any issues?I upgraded to 10.6.5 and right now deep sleep is no more working ,can you check that?
My 10.6.5 sleepenabler seems not to work properly (I was having my 10.6.4 working perfectly)

Is it now possible to upgrade from 10.6.4 to 10.6.5 oder 10.6.6 for my 1000HE?
Should i change to a patched kernel? My installation was with a retail DVD + combo Update 10.6.4 and netbookinstaller + /E/GE kext's
So the netbook is working like a charm, only the fan is running all the time.

Thanks for the info.
I would prefer to clean the fan.
Could you help me with the needed kext's ?
I've seen that you use 10.6.6..
With patched kernel?
I had tried it, but there was a problem with the graphics. Everytime the screen was going black and came back, the mouse was working correcly , the screen shows all icons and windows, but i could not click something.
What netbookinstaller do you use?

I used NetbookInstaller 20101127091350. I was having some problems with other versions. It uses a patched kernel. Try that version

I don't not know what is with the GMA problem. Did you install a modified gma950 kext that is required to work on the 1000he? I can't upload the netbookinstaller file because it exceeds the 10mb limit. 0.8.4RC1 is similar.

Yeah, some of his kexts don't work properly I believe. There is another guide on insanelymac about getting to 10.6.6 on a 1000he. Have you read through that one?
