I went ahead and tried the hackintoshing thing on the laptop again (see my sig for specs). Using iDeneb 10.5.6, I was easily able to get Leopard installed. I'm currently in the process of getting 10.5.8 installed. If that's a success, all I'll need to get working is QE/CI and everything will be perfect. Audio and wifi work fine.
