Ok guys, firstly I have had a poke around and not found anything definitive to fix the problems I am about to post, that or the links provided in said topics are dead and the people I PM about it are long gone.

ANYWAYS, onto the main course.

I have a successful install of 10.6.4 on the following hardware:

500gb Seagate Barracuda SATA HDD
4GB Corsair XMS2 PC6400
Gigabyte EP35-DS3P iP35 - S775
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600
XFX Radeon 4890 1GB

All works kushty, installed using http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/04/ibo...ac-os-x-on.html using the ATi ##### and Chameleon R5/#####, and a few (possibly usesless) kexts from http://lifehacker.com/5672051/how-to-build...ne=true&s=i (the ones that go in E/E). Also using Netkas's QE_CI patch for exotic cards, and the patch for post-SL Graphics Update 1.0, got Full Acceleration, I think (does all the fancy {censored}).

My install was as follows:

BIOS Edits

Boot ##### CD

Use SL Retail Disc

Partition to Journaled OSX and Format etc.

Install OSX - (now this is where it gets freaky, I used the latest ATI ##### which is meant to FAIL the install, but it gave me a INSTALL SUCCESSFUL message at the end, is this normal?)

Restart, Boot with ##### CD, boot into OSX

10.6.4 Combo Update Install with No Reboot, Installed ##### (weird fact again, the Combo Update Installer unexpectedly quits while I have MBeast open, so I just install ##### with the Core 2 designation, Easy Beast and Utilities and Graphics Enabler)

Remove #####

Reboot

Now won't go past the DMI bit at the bios without the ##### disc in the drive, what in the merry fook? So ...

Re-insert #####

Reboot, Boot into OSX in Safe Mode

Install ATY_INIT.kext with kext utility

Install QE_CI Patcher

Reboot.

Everything works ... except for the ##### disc needed to boot. Tried re-installing ##### with chameleon, no biscuit. Nor does it see my CPU correctly, sees my GPU and RAM fine, but not the name of my CPU:

Also, I have an onboard realtek sound setup, which when I was running Vista used AC889A ...which I read was a bit of a {censored} to get crackin' and anything I have found has dead links and no definitive way of setting it up. Sound works for me, everything except the rear audio-out port (Green). It lets me use the front port green but is quiet as hell compared to the Mobo one. Even at max volume.

So there you go, my issues as it stands (and I have explained indepth enough for help I hope):

- Incorrect Audio Port detection

- ##### Disc always needed to boot

- Graphics Settings ... where is the panel to turn AA and stuff off! ;_;

And one more thing ... like an eejit, I went OSX first ... then realised I wanted to have Windows 7 too, can I just use the built in Disk Utility to throw some space free and then just install windows 7? Will ##### or Chameleon play ball or will I have to jack my OSX86 install, do windows FIRST then partition for OSX that way?

Many thanks for any help you provide, and the help provided in other topics that got me this far. Keep up the amazing work
