Quick Question/8800gt Died

Hi all - I am new to the forums - obviously - and was hoping to see if someone could answer this question for me.

My 8800gt in my mac pro died recently and I have been without a graphics card. I purchased a gtx 460 - which as reading other posts on this website, does not work with the mac side so I've been using it only with windows.

I want to access the mac side of my computer, even with limited functionality and am wondering if it would be possible to do so using a cheap mac compatible graphics card. I found one on ebay for ~7 dollars. (I thought I might be able to enter snow leopard using safe mode, but didnt have any luck - is this a viable option?)

The description reads "This unit is a used recovery, clean-pulled from iMac G3 series tower. ATI 3D Rage Pro video card, uses Rage Pro 2x chipset and features DB15 mac video, RCA, and Svideo ports. Also has full memory expansion slot for 4MB SGRAM upgrade. Buyer pays shipping cost, please see shipping statement before making any payment, thanks!"

It is obviously a cheap card, but I am not sure if it will fit/work in my mac pro as a temporary card. I'd appreciate any advice I could get on the matter.

Thanks a lot!
