Not sure which forum section this belongs in, please remove if in wrong one.

So I am hoping to to get everything up and going after I order all my hardware next week.

What exactly can I expect after I hear the mac chime, is it going to be exactly as if I am on my 2008 mac pro.

Will all my high end graphic and video editing software work. Will my scanner, printer, external hd's and video capture card work?

I will be getting a gigabyte x58a-ud7 and i7-930. I would prefer to use a i7-980 but can not find a guide. I am new to all this I need a guide.

Thanks

this a great site

There is no "mac chime" during boot up. Searching for a guide, search function is your best friend.
