Hi there.

I've found this thread: GA-P35C-DS3R - 100% Vanilla Snow Leopard Install, Everything Works ~ 32bit or 64bit ~ 10.6

In the BootMenue I insered SL 10.6.3 to install. The Apple-Waiting-Screen appears, and after a while this failure occurs: 2291559729_f54174637a_o.jpg

My Hardware:

Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R

ATI Saphire 4850 512MB

Only SATA-Drives

Should I use an other BootCD?

Would you give me a small guide please?

I tried this one, it doesn't worked for me.

Something like "cant find matching kernel" occurs.

I dont think that I have trouble with USB-Support.

use -x

What does this mean? Do I have to enter "-x" anywhere at any time? Please explain.

Thank you

Ah, ok.

So this (http://tonymacx86.blogspot.com/2010/05/ibo...hanced-usb.html) is a BootCD too?

Should I try this one instead? The "##### Ati" ?

Or do have to combine your posted Isos (Intel Gigabyte BootCD and #####)?

Thanks

I have a GA P35 DS3/HD4850

These all work

but

I need the -x

You also need the -x

problem--> atiradeonx2000.kext

After instal

Read it

*I still need to plug in an DVI->VGA adapter on the unused DVI port. Try this if you get a black screen instead of proper graphics.

**This problem of dvi2vga dongle was due to a change in the framebuffer version 10.6.3 +.

no need to use the dongle dvi2vga, just use the 10.6.2 kexts (ATI4800Controller, ATISupport, ATIFramebuffer).

that was the problem that was fixed in 10.6.5

Ok, in front of me is the "Gigabyte Intel BootCD"-Mainscreen.

Now I change the CD, I inser the Snow Leopard 10.6.3 DVD.

The Icons name change to "Apple_HFS". I klick it sais "HFS Signature was not present - Cant find match_kernel"

If I type "-x" in the console nothing changes.

What does the failuremessage mean?

As told in the original-thread I tried this one too:

http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=180954

With it he reads the SL-dvd. Now I see a Mac-Waitingscreen, but the dvd-rom stopped since a while.

Now nothing seem to happen. There also is a litle sign, I think this shouldnt be there:

verbot_eingeschr_halteverbot.gif

Ill try now your posted ##### ATI (!?) CD, ok?

BootCd Gigabyte ok

No problem

Im trying ##### Ati right now. The dvdrom is working, staring at the macloadingscreen again. :censored2:

Yes, I activated AHCI but only the one at the top, "onboard sata/ide ctr mode" is still on raid. Is this a problem?

edit: still staring at the macloadings-screen. How long does this take normaly? dvdrom is stoll working.

edit2:tried the gigabyte bootcd again. i refreshed with f5, now it seem to work. Im looking at white text-lines now. Hope he comes through this time. :-/

He stopped again. :-(

Hard to say if he canceled the process.

I can read "debugger called: <panic>"

I try again with "-v -x", maybe this works. :-(

Yehaaw! NOW it worked!

Im in the installation-routine. Thank you dude!

Is it possible to install on a usb-hdd?

He doesnt seem to recognize my external hdd.

But I can out it on directly, without external box.

Do I have to format the drive before?

Ok, I think Ive made it. Formatted my external and installing on it right now. Just hope he wont touch my other drives with windows installed on. :censored2:)

Thank you!

What to do with the kext? Where to place it? How to run it?

Extra/Extensions or System/Library/Extensions

READ IT

Hi there again!

Now I copied the kext to the extension-directory.

After that I started Lizard and set the same configuration as you have shown on the screenshot in the thread.

lizard.png

After reboot I get a failure "No DSDT found, using 0 as uid value. Using PCI-Root-UID value: 0"

I think this should be "1", shouldnt it?

Is there a way to fix it before booting with any command?

Update: Now Ive read a litle about this PCI-Root-UID and so I typed "-v -x PCIRootUID=1" before booting macos. Now he stopped with "Using PCI-Root-UID value: 1" and doestn proceed.

Any Tips for me?

Thank you!

Hi again!

I changed something in the Bios, I think now I get the "right" failure-message.

When Im booting without savemode I get a kernel panic.

When booting with savemode he stopps at "DSMOS has arrived"

post-576770-1286871339_thumb.jpg

It seems that the ati-kext has corrupted the OS, doesnt it?

Thank you

Ok, now Im back with brand new MacOS installation.

Its installed from the "Intel Gigabyte BootCD" with retail Snow Leopard 10.6.3.

I'm typing this lines on my Hackintosh.

The screenresulution is very low and Im sure there is no hardware acelleration.

So I think I have to install the drivers for my Ati 4850.

I've found some topics about installing the Ati 4850, but I dont get them and can't follow themn.

(e.g. http://www.insanelymac.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=181405)

They are talking about installion Chameleon and other Stuff, but I have no clue how to do this and what is it for.

Your method with the tool "Lizard" seems way easier, but maybe that wasn't enaugh?

It seems there are various ways to make it work, but I think there are many outdated.

So whats the actual way to do this?

Can pls anyone tell me how to install my Ati 4850 ?

Thank you very much.

Ok, fresh installation again.

I try to run in normal mode now, not only savemode.

Now Ive tried 3 different BootCDs

With every bootCD I get another Kernel Panic. Look at these pics:

Intel Gigabyte BootCD:

post-576770-1286909716_thumb.jpg

Another, P45 BootCD:

##### 2.0 Ati (!) BootCD:

post-576770-1286909747_thumb.jpg

In the first and second picture you can read something of "Ati" seems to be a missing Graphic_Kext, doesnt it? But, with the ##### 2.0 Ati version there is nothing mentioned woth "Ati". How can that be? Does the ##### 2.0 Ati Boot CD deliver the kext for my Aticard and jumps to the "next" panic?

Use Intel Gigabyte BootCD

Use -x

After Install, upload your DSDT

run on terminal

perl -e 'open(CMD, "ioreg -lw0 \| grep DSDT|") or die; while(<CMD>) { chomp; if($_ =~ /\"DSDT\.?\d?\"=<([^>]*)>/) { $buff = $1; open(PIP, "|xxd -r -p > dsdt.aml") or die; print PIP "$1"; } }'

the DSDT will be generated in user folder

send me

do not install anything, send me the DSDT and wait

I'll send you the extra folder full

Ok?

I paste and copied the code into the Terminal. Pressing return but nothing seem to happen. The cursor just jumps into the next line.

I cant find a new file in the user folder.

Please let me know the exact path to the file.

No, both are USB.

I have a wacom tablet connected with USB, and an exotic audiocard via pci. Is that a Problem?

Yes, the ati has dual DVI.

Thanks
