PowerBook86
Hello everyone, So here are my system specs: Mac OS X 10.6.2 (Vanilla) Using ##### 132 ATI Boot CD-ROM ASUS P5Q Pro LGA 755 Motherboard MSI Radeon HD 4670 (512MB RAM GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16) (x2, removed 2nd card for now) Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 Kentsfield 2.4GHz LGA 755 So this is my main machine. I use Windows 7 on one hard drive and have Mac OS X 10.6.2 installed on a separate drive. I basically use the Hackintosh for rendering videos. My 2006 iMac takes 5 hours what this tower takes 2 hours to do. So I love saving time while mass copying family VHS home videos to digital formats. My issue is suddenly booting into OS X has stopped working, somewhat. I get no display. No graphics at all. Previously it worked like a charm, since the 4670 card is in the iMacs OS X found it without issue. Now I have two ATI cards crossfired, I have disconnected one to try and eliminate the issue. But no luck. Thankfully I have turned VNC on, when the machine boots I have no issue using it. But the screen lag is killing me, especially for video editing. I haven't changed, moved, or deleted any drivers, settings or anything in my memory. It was just working last week. When OS X is not in use I even unplug the hard drive. Any ideas? On Windows 7 I recently upgraded the graphics card drivers... but I don't think that could have done anything. Unless the firmware/chip on the cards were changed. In Apple System Profiler the card is seen as an ATI 4670, but under "Display Connectors" no displays are listed. I've tried both DVI ports and even a DVI > VGA adapter. Still nothing. Any help would be fantastic. I'm almost at the point of buying a cheap compatible card just to view it again. I've tried using ##### / ##### to bypass the boot CD and that does not improve things. I don't believe I had any hacks installed or other ktexts besides maybe an ethernet driver. My OS X install method is odd. I copied a fresh install from my iMac and then it just "worked"! Thanks!
